It just sort of happened.
No matter what you were doing, either fighting your nemesis, or exchanging a simple word with your loved one, you found yourself here. Now, where is exactly here?
Here is an island. No coordinates, no actual destination. It's a land form with plenty of resources. Every few years, it suddenly 'awakens' and goes through the dimensions, picking random people to come to The Island. You were one of them. Stuck on The Island, you'll meet new people, new creatures even. Occasionally, some people won't get along, and start a feud. But there's usually always a solution, that is if the characters can figure it out.
In the middle of the island, in the shadows of the looming mountain cliffs, is an abandoned city. Oddly, although, it looks brand new, with food and all sorts of supplies. There's no special kinds of animals living on the island, just birds and boars. There's plenty to survive off of, no matter what kind of being you are. Animal, celestial being, normal human, magician.
By the way, you can't leave the island. There's a barrier that extends out into the ocean. It's invisible, but there. Anybody with the powers to teleport, will just be teleported back to their original spot (aka where they teleported from) So, you may be better off with an acquaintance.
