Kankure wasn’t sure what he was feeling… it was strange really. He knew something was there, something alive and pure. And thankfully not a demon. Perhaps it was an animal- but he didn’t see anything. At all. It was strange really. Kankure’s royal blue eyes seeked for what he felt, walking forward into the empty terrain as if he intended to get lost in it and never come back. He used his nimble fingers to brush away stray tresses of white hair that stuck to his face. Somehow not even noticing the burns and cuts from the mod soul taking him through a maze of black lightening bolts.
He stopped suddenly, as if expecting to see something at the ground there. But again, it was nothing but black, hard, desolate earth. Albeit, if one could even call this hunk of rock earth. Kankure reached his hand forward and a particular part of the scene moved like water as his index finger poked it. Strange… He pushed his hand through and pulled it back out. Hand not wet or damaged. Without a second thought, he walked through. The dark scene immediately blinding white as the light of day hit his eyes. He just blinked and adjusted to the light, then looked around casually.
It was a shrine… The pillars of the structure was painted red with white floors and walls and golden detail. Behind him was two wish trees, littered in papers and tied to a single stem of a leaf. On either side of a mirror they stood. The mirror was a massive rectangle form, spotless too. With a golden frame detailed with the images of nature. In front of Kankure was the offering box, the small rows not big enough to squeeze one’s hand through. Marking the offerings safe from thieves- lest they broke the box open, risking angering whatever god or virtue that was held in perspective here.
In front of the temple was a large stair case that was surrounded by forest and lead into the forest. The shrine standing on a lone hill with nothing but forest around. The large red wooden frames stood above and beside the stair case in strange arches as white notes were stuck all over them. As well as on the stairs and the walls of the shrine. Kankure remembered this place… it was quite close to home, actually. His real home- though he doubted they wanted anything to do with him. It would take quite a while to get back to the school from just walking through the forest.
