Harper instructed, walking around behind the owl, well aware of his scathing glare as she eyed the small tube attached to his leg. Rolling up her letter as small as possible, she pulled a small bag out of her robes and tossed it to Rowan. "If that doesn't work, feed him these, I'll try to be fast." she added. Quickness was a necessity, if she didn't want to get clawed or at the very least, pecked. Her parents had picked Artemis because he was pretty, his bad attitude became apparent the second he had been let out of his cage. The only thing he had been good for was to sic on irritating pigeons, he didn't seem to be too inclined to deliver her mail for her.

Rowan nodded and gazed at the bird. She quietly walked up to him, rolling her feet to minimize any accidental and startling sounds. "Hey there, Artemis. Know what these are?" she spoke softly to him, standing about a foot or two away now. She bent her knees to become eye level with him. Hopefully this would make her looked smaller and less of a threat to him. The redhead also now held up the bag up to let him see it, what she had questioned the bird about. Surely he would know if it was a way to persuade him into doing a desired action, thus hopefully he would cooperate.
