"I'm Shanaia," the seventh year said, walking into the compartment. She was a little shorter than average, so putting her trunk up on the luggage rack was a little difficult, but she had long since developed a method for doing so. Grasping the bottom of the trunk, Shanaia crouched low, then caber-tossed the suitcase up into the luggage rack. Several items inside it made loud clunking sounds as the heavy trunk settled into its resting place, but the American student didn't bother to check on the status of her luggage. That was what repair spells were for, after all. Sitting down across from Evelyn, she noticed the charms book resting on the sixth year's lap. "Working on some last-minute homework?" She asked, thinking about the Muggle Studies paper in her trunk that she really should have finished. It was simple enough, just a short treatise on the various muggle uses for electricity (a word Shanaia prided herself on knowing, nobody else seemed to be able to pronounce it), but she wanted to take it a step further. Hence the items in her trunk. She'd have to finish it after the feast, which meant staying up all night, but it would be worth it.

Mia saw some people emptying a compartment and once they had gone she sat down. She was glad to find a seet but she had hoped it would had been with other people. She pulled out her hoe work andstarted looking through it to see if she need to do any extra. She thought it was ok so she put that away and got out her piggmy-puff (called piffle-puff in honer of my sis on here) and started playing with him. She hopped the food cart would come round it probably wouldnt but she was realy hungry.

Kaiden Ray

The blaring sound of a train whistle altered Kaiden that they where calling for the last borders. Picking up her things, Kaiden pushed past the large crowed that had now packed tighter together. She blew large strands of hair from her face and out of her blueish amber eyes as she got pushed around. The girl finally made it to an entrance and pulled her luggage onto the train. With a sigh Kaiden walked with her things down the isle.
Her face was black, lips slightly turned down in a threatening way. Each door was shut, kids laughing and talking amongst themselves. Kaiden grumbled about how there where no seats, when she hit the end of the train. There was a single compartment with one girl, and seeing that it was the last cart, Kaiden entered. Seeing that Kaiden was five foot ten, six inches taller than the average girl, it was easy for her to take her heavy things and slide them into the racks above the seats. She took a seat across from the girl, picking up her long legs and crossing them on the seat.

I walked down the isle with my large trunk, pushing through the crowd. A rude people bumped into me, shooting me nasty looks in which I returned. The train whistled sounded, and more students began to pile on board. Parents tried not to cry as they sent their children away for the first time. I chuckled slightly at the scene, remembering when my parents where like that. As I reminisced, I realized my feet had carried me to the train's entrance. Hopping in, I searched for a seat.
I saw a few friends from previous years, but all the seats and compartments where full. It took me forever before I found myself near the back of the train. A few compartments where empty or a few seats where taken by new first years. One however, seemed to have two girls around my age in it. Taking a deep breath, I adjusted my trunk and entered. I nodded a hello to both girls as I pushed my trunk into the rack above. Then I took a seat next to the girl who's leg's where crossed on the cousin.

I know you have both posted, I was wondering if you were supposed to be in the same compartment as Eve and Shanaia?
Also if you want Raven to talk to someone you can have her join me or even Mia as she's not talking to anyone at the moment.

Evelyn Rayne

Eve smiled a bit in amusement at the way Shanaia handled her trunk, thinking of her own trunk which she had just placed under her seat. "Yeah, I'm having a bit of trouble with the Aguamenti charm but I'm sure I'll figure it out, I'm pretty good at the practical it's just the theory that I seem to get stuck on." She said in response to the other girls inquiry, holding up her text book and glaring at it slightly. "I should have gotten around to finishing it earlier but I got distracted with an extra curricular study project I'm working on for Care of Magical Creatures. I honestly didn't mean to leave it to the last minute but things happen." She smiled sheepishly, placing the book back into her lap.
"How about you? Anything you left 'till the last minute?" She asked, hoping that she wasn't the only one who had gotten a bit behind by the end of the summer. She threw a quick glance out the window when she heard the train let out a loud whistle to signal that they would be leaving soon.

"Well, I've got a paper for Muggle Studies I need to wrap up," Shanaia said, " But I kinda have to wait until we get to school to do that." A ghost of a smile flickered across her face as she remembered her own years spent with Professor Kettleburn. She loved animals, but she was lousy at actually taking care of them, she'd spent a week in the hospital wing in her fourth year, covered in burns from when she'd accidentally knocked a bucket of water on a fire salamander. Little thing was like a tiny red grease fire, water just made it explode. "I probably also should have practiced my Chasing a bit, but last time I did that I got mistaken for a UFO. So, what are you doing for Care of Magical Creatures?"

Cormac heaved the heavy trunk onto his shoulders. The Ravenclaw brushed a dark strand of hair out of his eyes as he looked for a place to sit on the train. Naturally shy, he normally chose to sir alone. Finally finding a lone seat, he settles himself in for a long ride.

"Oh, there was a new litter of Crups born and the professor didn't have enough room for all of them so I volunteered to take two of them home with me, they were a handful at first but I've grown quite attached to them. As a plus we live in a completely wizarding area so we won't have to sever their second tail." Eve replied, getting enthusiastic over her project and her new pets. "I've never been any good at quidditch." She admitted, remembering the rest of what Shanaia had said. "Which is weird because I love flying and I fly just fine with animals, I could just never get the hang of brooms though."
She glanced out the window again and smiled a little at the students making a last minute dash for the train, it was always a little amusing to see the first years struggling to get away from their parents and the late comers hurriedly rushing towards the steam engine. She'd never actually seen anyone miss the train before though and all the students were almost aboard as the train blew a final whistle in warning of their imminent departure.

"Yeah, brooms aren't for everyone," Shanaia said, taking her wand, along with a small black square, out of her pocket. Her real experiment would have to take place at Hogwarts, but the train should have enough magic to give her an indicator of what would happen. "I used to be a pretty bad flier myself, until my dad took me down to the base where he works. They have this thing there called a 'flight simulator', it makes it look like you're flying, even though you're just in this little room on stilts. It's pretty cool, actually. That helped me a lot. If you're ever stateside, look me up, I might be able to show you." Looking back down, she began to guide her wand in a complex series of motions, muttering various spells under her breath as she did so.

Raven growled. "Everywhere is full darn it." She groaned. She brushed her black and bright green hair back. She opened the door, inside was Shanaia and Ivy. "Mind if I sit here?" She said.
