Nico nodded and shined the flashlight where Abigail gestured, throwing a ghostly light onto the stone walls and into a couple of the nearby shadowy crevices. He watched her as she made her way inside, walking slowly after her though not wanting to get too close. From what he could tell, from what anyone would be able to tell really, this child was scared and didn't need people crowding around them. He watched as Abigail spoke into one of the nearest entrances, her voice gentle and comforting and arms open wide, and in a few moments a small dirty child ran into them. The girl was bruised and bloody, the red stuff dripping down the side of her head and left rusty stains on her arms and legs and below her nose, and a patchwork of bruises spotted her body. He waited as Abigail walked back over to him, child in her arms, and smiled at the little girl sadly, pained at the idea that the other two, the little boys, had been lost. "It's okay, your safe now, we took care of the monster, he's gone now and he's not coming back." He came closer to the two and reached out a tentative hand, delicately pushing back a strand of the girl's brown hair, which was dirty and tangled. She flinched at the contact but relaxed again, and he put a comforting hand on her cheek and she tilted into it slightly, closing her eyes, breathing evening out a bit more.
We should get her out of here." The meister said to his petite partner after a few moments, in which the child seemed to have fallen into a light sleep. "Her parents are probably worried" He murmured, somewhat to himself, looking down at her with a mix of relief and anxiety. She had gone missing almost a week ago, and it was horrifying to think of what hell she went through, hiding in here with a creature like that just outside, its blade clicking against the wet cobblestones and its rank breath permeating the air, blood and death just a whisper away, ripping flesh and the screams of the others-
Nico shook his head to get rid of his unsettling thoughts, sweeping his flashlight back around at their surrounding before pointing the light back at the part of the tunnel through which they had come from. "L-lets go."
