I always try to write between 2-3 detailed sentences, but that can sometimes increase to 20+ lines. When I am role-playing "by myself" my posts are generally much longer, decreasing in length once my character encounters someone else.

"Understood." Yuuka nodded her head glanced over at the other students. They all seemed unique in their own way, so it wouldn't be hard to remember some of their faces. "What will you do for this academy?" She finally asked, curious as to what his goals were for the future.

Seto turned his eyes upwards, wistfulness entering the sharp, apathetic blue eyes. "...I would like to join the DWMA Soldier military. Spec-Op missions are more my forte, although I will probably be forced to become a Death Weapon Meister." He stated coldly at the end, before his tone regained it's usual neutrality. "What about you?"

"More often than not though, I'll find people who only want a close-range weapon." He sighed. He flinched as she stood up, rather concerned she wasn't just possessed by a witch.. or something. He stood up as she said "Show me!" He twiddled his thumbs. "O-Okay." He rose a brow. That was sudden. Was she wanting to partner up already? He wasn't complaining. She seemed nice; that's all he wanted from a meister. Kindness.

Kou noted the irritation on Rin's face and sighed, placing a hand on her hip. "Either one is fine. If I have a long range weapon for a partner, then I'll use combat for close range. Its not that hard, really" Kou said with a smile, taking a deep breath in. She leaned forwards a little and cracked her back with yawn, before staring at Rin with a content look. "Woah, I didn't expect you to go along. Thats cool" She offered him a closed eye smile before stepping a little closer. "Okay, im ready when you are" Kou offered Rin a thumbs up while holding her hand out, waiting for the blonde to transform.
