Skyrim: Rise of the Dragonborn (Accepting)

It has been 200 years since Martin Septim ended the Oblivion Crisis by taking on the form of a dragon. 200 years since a large scale disaster drew the attention of all of Tamriel. In the time since, nothing worse than a few minor wars have broken out, nothing large enough to draw attention beyond the borders of the country affected. However, things are changing in the frozen lands of Skyrim. Eerie roars ring over the snowy landscape, the citizens cower in fear and speak of a bleak future. It seems dragons have returned, lead by Alduin the World-Eater, the black-scaled, black-hearted dragon-god of destruction and death to bring about the end of the world. However, Alduin is a very arrogant creature. Instead of ending this world, as tasked by the Nine Divines, the big black dragon has decided to rule it, beginning with Skyrim. He offered a choice to all of the mortal leaders of the country- submit to his rule, or die. Most chose to submit and gave their thrones and power to Dragon Priests hand chosen by Alduin. Those who refused to submit were quickly devoured and replaced as well.

Now, Alduin rules from his mountain lair as the Black King, and the Jarls have no real power. The Dragon Priests he appointed have taken over the management of the holds, each demanding huge amounts of treasure and tribute for their master, and often the lives of the people themselves to be used in grisly sacrifices. Alduin seemed to be unstoppable, prayers to the Eight Divines unanswered. The Divines quickly banded together to try and stop the problem as they had in the past, however there was one problem. Worship of Talos had been outlawed in Skyrim, resulting in weaker Divines. They no longer had the strength needed to harness a dragon soul to place in the mortal vessel known in legends as Dragonborn. However, there was one other option open to them. Paarthurnaxx. They quickly requested the help of the old dragon in rounding up the strongest souls to face off against Alduin, a task he happily accepted. It didn't take long for the older dragon to contact his intended heroes in their dreams, leaving a short order for them to meet him at the Throat of the World. Now all anyone can do is wait and hope that these heroes answer their summons.

-Site Rules-
Tess’ rules will always apply. If you don’t like them then you shouldn’t be roleplaying. If you disobey any of them, whether it is minor or major, we will have to report you. I wouldn’t like to but it’s for the best of everyone as well as the site.

-Semi-Literate-
This role play is semi-literate. That means you must type at least 4 good sentences if not more. You must also have somewhat good grammar and punctuation. No text-talk as it can sometimes be annoying and confusing. What you may understand, others might not. I will not allow text talk in OOC either. Brb and gtg are alright, although we don't need to know when you are leaving unless the roleplay is very active.

-OOC-
When you are talking in OOC please use (()), {}, [] or (). It makes it much more helpful in figuring out what is OOC and what is IC(in character). Try to keep spam to a minimum. I might make a separate thread for ooc talk.

-Crushes/Spouses-
You can’t be your own crush or spouse. If you are then you will be asked to change it. If you want to be your own crush/spouse (and have a good reason for it) then pm me and we will talk about it. Most of the time, I will not allow it.

-Sex and Birthing-
This is a site rule, but I feel it must be outlined specifically anyway. Don’t be descriptive with either of them. No one wants to know what your members are doing when their together, alone. We can get the idea without the words and also there are younger members on this site that don’t need to be exposed to such things. I don't even want sex hinted at in this role play and neither of these topics are the point of this role play anyway.

-Mary Sue/Gary Sue-
No one at all is perfect and everyone has flaws. Do not come as the most perfect character in the world. If you do then you might not be accepted, or will be kicked out. Just giving you a heads up before you do that kind of thing. On another note, absolutely ‘NO GOD MODDING OR POWERPLAYING.’ This means auto-hitting. Do not assume your strike will make its target. However, not every strike will miss. If there is a problem, I will determine who will win the fight, and will pm both participants.

-Pictures-
This is another CS rule that is commonly broken, so must be specifically mentioned. There are to be no pictures on every post. This includes Fontmeme and other sites like that. Note: This is ok on your initial forms, just not on every post as decorative spam.

-Activity-
If you join, you must be active. This means at least one post per day, more than that if the roleplay is really active. If you are constantly asking for a recap, then you are not active enough. It is that simple. Inactive people will be kicked from the roleplay, and their characters will be killed off. We understand vacations and time away from the computer, but let us know in advance.

-Characters-
You may only join with one main, or hero, character. There is one exception to this rule. There is no limit on minor characters. Please note that I will NOT accept any new hero characters once to roleplay has started. If you feel you wont be around when we begin, feel free to reserve a hero.

-Death-
We will need some characters who die in order to keep the story line of the role play going. If you would like to make another hero character to die, pm me and we will work it out. This is the exception of the character limit.

-On Genders-
I don't care if genders are kept even or not.

-On Children-
None of the main characters can be under 21. Sorry.

-Races-
You have your choice of 10 races for your characters to be. Certain races may have special, race-related abilities.

Image

Available Races:

Altmer
Also known as "High Elves" in their homeland of Summerset Isle, the Altmer are the most strongly gifted in the arcane arts of all the races.

Argonian
This reptilian race, well-suited for the treacherous swamps of their Black Marsh homeland, has developed a natural resistance to diseases and the ability to breathe underwater.

Bosmer
The clanfolk of the Western Valenwood forests, also known as "Wood elves." Bosmer make good scouts and thieves, and there are no finer archers in all of Tamriel. They have natural resistances to both poisons and diseases. They can command animals to fight for them.

Breton
In addition to their quick and perceptive grasp of spellcraft, even the humblest of High Rock's Bretons can boast a resistance to magic.

Dunmer
Also known as "Dark elves" in their homeland of Morrowind, Dunmer are noted for their stealth and magic skills. They are resistant to fire.

Imperial
Natives of Cyrodiil, they have proved to be shrewd diplomats and traders. They are skilled with combat and magic. Anywhere gold coins might be found, Imperials always seem to find a few more.

Khajiit
Hailing from the province of Elsweyr, they are intelligent, quick, and agile. They make excellent thieves due to their natural stealthiness. All Khajiit can see in the dark at will and can use their claws instead of swords and other weapons.

Nord
Citizens of Skyrim, they are a tall and fair-haired people. Strong and hardy, Nords are famous for their resistance to cold and their talent as warriors.

Orc
The people of the Wrothgarian and Dragontail Mountains, Orcish smiths are prized for their craftsmanship. Orc troops in Heavy Armor are among the finest in the Empire, and are fearsome in battle.

Redguard
The most naturally talented warriors in Tamriel, the Redguards of Hammerfell have a hardy constitution and a natural resistance to poison.[/center]

-Dragons-
There are several different species of dragon that can be played. Dragons will be treated as NPC's, and may be rped by anyone.

Image

Basic Dragon
Considered the easiest of the species to kill. Can be brown, white or bronze and attack using fire or frost.

Blood Dragon
All Blood Dragons are entirely green in color, can breathe either fire or frost, and are slightly tougher than basic dragons. These dragons have sail-like fins on their backs and on either side of their tails, and a bony ridge along their foreheads.

Frost Dragon
Frost Dragons are colored white and grey and have very large, black spikes along their back. They have a frost-based breath attack. These dragons are a little tougher than Blood dragons and have significantly more health.

Elder Dragon
All Elder Dragons are bronze in color and are significantly tougher than the previous types, both in melee and breath attacks. Their wings have a unique two-tone pattern, with bronze at the top and a lighter green lower down. They can breathe either fire or frost, and are often on Alduin's Dragon Counsil.

Ancient Dragon
These dragons make up the majority of Alduin's Counsil. They are covered with coppery red-and-black scales, with almost no ridges or spikes on their backs, and are capable of breathing either fire or frost.

Revered Dragon
These dragons serve as Alduin's Advisor's. They are orange-scaled dragons that have long, flat bodies and broad tails. In addition to their deadly fire breath, they can also rapidly drain a victim's health, magicka, and stamina.

Legendary Dragon
Second only to Alduin in their sheer power, Legendary Dragons have striped black and purple scales, large curved horns, and unusually long claws on their white-and-purple wings. They have the same attacks as Revered Dragons, with the addition of frost breath. They serve as the leaders of Alduin's Enforcers and are some of the hardest to kill.

Name:
Xarlene Azarseth
Gender:
Female
Age:
22
Species:
Dark Elf
Appearance:
Xarlene w/ Weapons
Face
Magic
Weapons:
Iron Swords, Fire magic
Shouts: Fire Breath, Unrelenting Force, Soul Tear.
Home:
Solsthiem. She travels to Skyrim a lot though.
Occupation:
Leader of Thieves Guild, Dragonborn
Strengths:
One Handed Sword Fighting, Lock picking, Persuasion,
Weaknesses:
Two-Handed sword fights, Pick pocketing, Intimidation.
Any Horses:
She prefers to travel by foot, but the Thieves Guild did gift her a horse on one of her many birth days.
Personality:
Xarlene is an all around quiet girl. Being a thief, she likes it that way. She can be snarky and rather unpleasant if you get on her bad side. She doesn't tolerate others stupidity, and usually travels alone. As Guild Master of the Thieves Guild, she's very well known through Skyrim. Especially around the guards. She's notorious for taking articles of clothing from someone as small pranks. If you get
on her good side, she may actually open up to you if she's having a bad day. She prefers to hang around stronger people, as she is... Quite tiny. If you become close enough to her, she may actually crack a smile around you. The only people that have managed that are Brynjolf and Vex, who have been very close to her since she started running with the guild.
