Zane looked around, "Any of my friends?"

"I believe so. they are minds I've never senced before." G'lead nods.

Zane smiled, "Then let us go find them!"

Smokestorm joined Ryestar, deputy Quicksilver, medicine cat Flamesky, who'd recently took on Smokestorm's blind daughter Starpaw as apprentice, and several senior warriors.

(Finally finished it! The longest story I have ever written!)

G'lead trotted down a hallway toward the minds she sensed. "What was your father like?" The question seemed to have come out of nowhere, but she'd been thinking on what to do once she got out of these caves. One idea she'd come up with was staying with Spencer and helping him search for his creator. Then other was starting a business and creating the living stone creatures without pay. She'd almost completely forgotten about her family, though..

Zane frowned slightly, "My father? Well... I didn't get to know him as well as I would have liked to though. He was very kind and wise and..."

[kia.]

"Aren't all fathers kind if you get to know them?" G'lead laughs. "I can barely remember my family. I guess I kinda think of Spencer being my 'brother', but other than that.." She shrugs. "I suffered brain damage that cause me to forget 90% of my childhood.. Although I mysteriously remember the times baking cake with my mother... Gosh batter would be EVERYWHERE. And I'd be covered head to toe in flour." She shakes her head.

Zane shrugged, "Well, that may not always be true..." He listened to G'lead's story. "I am sorry about that. It must have been important to you then if you still remember baking a cake."

"But from what pictures tell me, there were a ton of more important parts in my missing childhood. The family ranch, stuff like that.. But I've found one picture that doesn't have an explanation on the back. It's an image of my mother laying on a hospital bed with a bunch of tubes and cords connected to her. One of the first living stone creatures sat on her shoulder, the color seeming to fade from his eyes.." G'lead falls silent as she ponders it. "The only time i've seen one of my creatures loose color is when they are cracked. That is when they 'die'."
