Fallout: Pursuit of Paradise [WIP, DNP]

[Intro]

War...war never changes.

In the future, the world...it is destroyed. Not completely literally - no, the government couldn't use the common sense of a pea to go ahead and finish the poor earth off. No. Instead, we were all left with the blasted shell of a planet. Nuclear weapons and technology ravaged the land until you could taste the metallic ting of radiation in the very air. On your clothing. In your nose. Even a light coating of the rads dusting over your brain stems! The world went to absolute apocalyptia. Some people were smart; more then dozens of humans had the intelligent idea to stock before hand, and so Vaults were pre-made before the nukes went down; dozens of them, created to preserve life, while life continued to degenerate up above. Time passed, and different factions were built; some more noteworthy then others. To name a couple, The Brotherhood of Steel; so-called 'Knights' that are stingy with their energy weapons, and the Enclave; remnants of 'good-ole America', with their fancy technology. However, this story isn't about them. No...it's about a small group of wet-behind-the-ears Vault Dwellers that came together under one metaphorical flag...to challenge the Wastes in the pursuit...of paradise. An anonymous source somehow hacked into each of their Pip-Boys, sending notices of a rumored Geck somewhere to the West.

[Welcome!]

Greetings, everyone. As you can see, this is a Fallout RP. There is no specific time-frame; let's pretend that the events of the Lone Wanderer and Courier never existed, and this is in the regular Fallout world. There's still the Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel, which the NCR didn't wipe out completely; oh, and yeah, there's the NCR and Legion, still fussing over Hoover Dam, in an endless struggle. The RP itself, however, is about a small group of Vault Dwellers that comes under an agreement to escape out into the Top World to find the GECK. Danger awaits. This will focus on survival and mental challeges, as well as physical. Their first kill? Interactions with the crazy people of the apocalypse? We will find out.

[Rules/Notices]

Ah, rules. We all hate them, but they're necessary to make the RP run smoothly. I guess I'll explain some things.

1. No Powerplaying/Gmodding. Our characters are not merciless killers; the worst they've killed are radroaches or something. Let's keep that in mind.

2. No Jack-of-all-Trades. We will be a group, so keep that in mind. Try to make a character that has an actual corresponding skillset.

3. Respect moderators, please.

4. Be respectful in general. No arguing, but friendly debates are accepted.

5. Use common-sense. Pretty please? <3 Meaning that your character can't pull a minigun out their butt, or somehow find a katana in their Vault room.

[Plot/Story so Far]

Alright, so basically, we're Vault Dwellers of Vault 66. Whilst in the midst of our Vault Dweller activities, each of us was sent a Pip-Boy message at the sametime; 'Do you yearn for paradise...a Peace of Mind and Spirit? Head westwards, and claim your Destinies.' At first, we thought nothing of it, ignoring the nervousness of someone somehow hacking our Pip-Boy from the world above. And then, our normally sociopathic but harmless Overseer Hogan Mackentire went crazy, executing a nurse because she asked a question about the outsie world. The RP starts with us all in Jack Howlite's - my character - room, where he had invited you all to talk about the message. Don't ask how he knew that you all got it. [It had RE: [your names] in the top left corner. Hehe.] However, within five minutes of the 'meeting', something...curious happens. I'll give you a hint/spoiler: The Overseer knows.

Image

Name: Jack Howlite
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance: Jack is a tall, firm young man with a dense, sharp muscular form, built from years of physical labor and training - mostly out of boredom. He has fair skin, despite living in the vault for so long, that is neither tan nor pale; somewhere in between. His eyes are a dark amber color, constantly fiery with the man's inner strength, while his hair, in contrast, is a dirty, shaggy blonde that 'blasts' backwards, down his neck, in rough, yet naturally tamed locks. A long, jagged scar stretches from his right jawbone, down into his neck, while his rugged, angular features are usually confident in appearance. He, like everyone else, wears the Vault 66 jumpsuit, only he has his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, an his 'top' part of the jumpsuit is unzipped, showing a practical white t-shirt underneath.
Skill: Skill-wise is where Jack really shines. The man is an absolute crackshot with a gun. As long as it spits lead, he'll most-likely know how to use it, without hesitation. His natural talent with guns are prodigal, although they are only sharpened by the time he spends in the Vault's basements, cracking the tiny red targets with his BB gun - which he so casually 'found' while wondering around the dorms. Due to this, Jack is a wiz at maintenance. There's just something about sitting down and carefully taking apart an item, cleaning it spotless with a lightly oiled rag, and then putting it back together. He can also be very charismatic at times, despite being very threatening in quite a few situations. Something about his 'rugged good looks and overwhelming determination', his Aunt had said. [Guns, Repair, Speech.]
Personality: Jack...well, Jack isn't someone you'd expect to live in such a 'pure', 'untainted' Vault. He is a determined, focused individual that has...interesting ideas on today's world. Untouchable and intense on the outside, he has a temper, and a penchant for going all in when it involves something he loves or believes in. His mental drive is strong enough to level the Mojave wasteland, as he firmly yearns for a safer world for his future generation. He looks at the bigger picture, in the long run, and even though he may not seem it at times, he truly cares for those close to him. He will obviously liberate a Brotherhood of Steel base to save a close friend, and most people know this. Jack keeps up a rugged exterior to hide his softer interior, and if he sees something...bad happening to a stranger, he will help, although he may play it off as 'being in the right spot at the right time'.
History: To be added.
