You've lived a life, so far, of peace. Well, as much peace as you could have, anyways. It has been a life of staying under the radar, of being unknown, of moving from place to place around the world in an effort to remain hidden. After all, if you are found, you are doomed. This isn't your original home, no--that place, Lorien, was destroyed long ago by the race of destructive and power-hungry Mogadorians. You fled to Earth, along with eight others as children, accompanied only by your Cepans, a Loric assigned to take care of you. When you arrived you departed to try and stay hidden from the Mogs who sought to destroy the last of your race. It has been a life of training and hiding, preparation for the day the Mogs did find you. Preparation for when they would without a doubt try to extinguish this planet as they had your own. But there is a catch--you and the rest of the remaining children survivors, called the Garde, were given numbers with a charm to help protect you; the Mogs must kill you in order of your numbers, starting with One and ending with Nine. This charm, however, is only in effect as long as you are away from the other Garde. It is only when you develop the special powers your people had--Legacies, as they were called--that you will stand a chance against the domination of the Mogs.
It has been a life of peace. But that is about to change.

This is a roleplay based on the book series Lorien Legacies (I Am Number Four, The Power of Six, The Rise of Nine, The Fall of Five, and The Revenge of Seven). While I will not by any means require you to have read the series, I would say to those interested in this roleplay who haven't it may be difficult to understand everything as easily. The movie I Am Number Four is hardly compensation--it missed a LOT of the plot details. Basically, nine aliens from a planet Lorien fled to Earth after theirs was destroyed by another race called the Mogadorians. The nine Garde and their Cepans live on Earth on the run but training to fight back against the Mogs. The Loric can only be killed in order of the numbers they were assigned, but this only lasts as long as they stay apart. Garde develop powers as they get older, known as Legacies. It is up to the Garde to not only survive but prevent the Earth's apocalypse at the hands of the Mogs, lead by the godlike Setrakus Ra.
In this roleplay, however, we won't be following the books. You will create your own Garde character (since roleplaying cannon characters in a cannon plot is very restricting), or your own human or Mog--whatever you want. The story will begin with characters on their own and develop from there.

- Etiquette ;; It should go without saying, be nice, ok? No ooc fighting or anything like that, it should be a no-brainer. If I see bad attitude going around remember I can kick you out. I allow cursing if it is starred out (first letter can be included though, like d*** or something), but lets not get excessive here. Do not powerplay and do not kill without permission from the rper whose character you'd kill. Romance is allowed, just know when to fade out or take it to messages or whatever, I don't want R rated material on a roleplay that shouldn't exceed PG-13. Speaking of romance, you can have non-straight characters and non-gender binary characters (and if you can't tolerate that then get out of here because I am not putting up with that).
- Literacy ;; I'm not asking for perfect grammar, but do your best, alright? Lets try to have at least 2 good sentences, but writers block or a dull moment is understandable. Please do NOT have any long, intricate posting format because it is confusing and unnecessarily complicated. Some simple coding is ok but not needed really. Also if you could indicate somehow that you are in ooc (out of character) when you are--like parenthesis, brackets, I don't care, just something. If you are going to be gone, please tell me in advance! If after two weeks you haven't been on I'll put you on a warning list and send you a note saying you've been inactive, after three you're out, sorry.
- Authority ;; I may assign people to be moderators for when I am not around, and they are in full control when I'm not here. But I am the only one who can remove people from this roleplay if they're gone for too long or if they're being mean. Bring up any concerns with them or me.

Use any form you would like. Requirements include a detailed description or picture, personality, species (human, Loric, Mog), age, number, Legacies if applicable (link to Legacy types at bottom!), gender, sexuality, etc. You may also include a Cepan description and you are permitted to have an animal (note: Loric traditionally have a Chimera, which are shapeshifting animals from Lorien--but only Loric can have them). Note that Mogs aiding Loric is rare and only one has ever done so. I would prefer forms to be very detailed but it is not a requirement.
