Welcome to Bayard!

Bayard is the busy center of the Medieval world. From it's bustling marketplace to the grand castle, it is all under the rule of King Alaric and Queen Magnolia. The King rules the land with diplomatic intelligence and a strict anti-magic policy, his young Queen sitting quietly by his side, along with her ladies-in-waiting.
While this town seems peaceful at first glance, their fear of any kind of magic shakes them to the core. For along the narrow winding roads, live witches and warlocks, both good and evil.
Though not all of these magical beings are as dangerous as people say, a handful want revenge on the King who forced them into hiding, and are willing to destroy anything, or anyone, who dares stand in their way...
History:
Bayard was once a magic friendly land, where all kinds of creatures lived happily with one another. The Kingdom was ruled by His Highness, King Elisedd, the kind and just. However, one day, the King fell ill, and his son, young Prince Alaric, entrusted him to the care of a Warlock physician. The warlock physician, however, failed to save the king, though he had the best of intentions, and kind King Elisedd passed away, leaving the kingdom in the hands of his sixteen year old soon.
20 years later, the kingdom has become a fiercely anti-magic community. Though some believe that it is unwise to force the magic folk into hiding, most just want to know that they can live in safety, without fear of magic interrupting their lives.
Among the magic people, there are good and evil. The good work tirelessly to keep the evil from taking control of the kingdom, all while trying to keep their identities a secret.
WITCHES AND WARLOCKS:
The difference between witches and warlocks, other than the gender (in case it's not obvious, witches are female and warlocks are male), is that witches can control a certain element, only one, but they have almighty control over it. Warlocks, while they can't control a certain element, can only use magic if they have a spell. They can't control death, love, nor can they defy the laws of science. Also, warlocks need a special object through which they channel their magic. Not necessarily a wand; anything will work.
Both witches and warlocks have animal familiars. They can speak telepathically, but only to their witch/warlock. Also, this must be a real (and realistic) animal. No dragons or anything of that sort. Also, no lions, or anything like that. People would notice a large animal following someone around. A cat, for example, would be a normal familiar. That does not mean everyone needs a feline familiar. Also, witches have male familiars, and warlocks have female familiars.
RULES:
-This is literate, so I want somewhere between 200-500 words PER CHARACTER.
-All other CS rules apply.
-Non-witch/warlock characters are needed. Please make normal humans as well.
-The King and Queen are both NPCs. They can be spoken for by anyone. But please, if someone already made the Queen non-confrontational, don't go describing her as the type to get into arguments all the time, or anything of that nature.
-Also, both good and evil warlocks and witches are needed.
-Keep genders even
