After a war that destroyed most of the world, Chicago stands as one of the few places that survived but the way it is run has changed. People are separated into the five factions: Abnegation, Candor, Dauntless, Erudite and Amity. Each faction is based on a certain personality trait. Every year when a person turns 16 years old they take the aptitude test which tells them which faction would be best for them. The next day the choosing ceremony is held and each initiate chooses their faction. Most people only get an aptitude for one of the factions. Some people however get aptitudes for 2 or more. These people are called 'Divergent'. Divergents as well as having aptitudes for more than one faction are aware during simulations. Divergence is considered dangerous and there are people out to kill them in order to protect the faction system. Are you divergent? Or more importantly, where do you belong?

Abnegation

Virtue: Selflessness
Clothing: Grey clothes
Hairstyle: Women tie their hair in a bun. Men cut their hair short.
Any extra things? The only adornment they are allowed is a watch. Abnegation runs the government.
Relationships with other factions:
Erudite - Abnegation and Erudite are rivals as Erudite want to have control of the government instead of Abnegation.
Amity - Abnegation and Amity are on good terms.
Dauntless - Abnegation and Dauntless don't have much to do with each other. Dauntless doesn't understand their way of life completely.
Candor - The relationship of Abnegation and Candor is unknown.

Amity

Virtue: Peace
Clothing: Red and yellow clothes
Any extra things? One of the 2 most essential factions as it produces the food for the city.
Relationships with other factions:
Candor - Rivals
Dauntless - Keep distance away from each other
Abnegation - On generally good terms
Erudite - On very good terms as they are considered the 2 most 'essential' factions.

Candor

Clothing: Black and White clothes
Any extra things? Good leaders in law. Love debating. Can see if you are lying

Abnegation - Kind of similar to Amity but not quite rivals
Dauntless - Get along decently well
Erudite - Depends on person. Some Candor members get along with Erudite, others don't.

Dauntless

Virtue: Bravery/Courage
Clothing: Black clothes (With maybe a little bit of dark red)
Any extra things? Guard the fence. Skilled fighters. Most likely to get tattoos, piercings or dye their hair.
Relationships with other factions:
Amity - Keep distance from each other
Abnegation - Mostly neutral
Candor - neutral, one of the 2 factions that are most likely to transfer to Dauntless
Erudite - Neutral, One of the 2 factions that are most likely o transfer to Dauntless

Erudite

Clothing: Blue clothes and sometimes a pair of glasses
Anything else? Jobs mainly chosen on the persons intelligence, if your IQ level isn't high enough you become factionless.

Dauntless - Mostly neutral, but some Dauntless side with Erudite on their hunt for divergent.

2. The only canon characters I'm allowing are faction leaders and Tori. Of course we don't have to have them, we can just do the rp with just OCs.
3. Can we not all choose Dauntless please!
4. For Dauntless, I'm only allowing a maximum of 3 tattoo artists
5. Erudite is allowed ONE member of the council
6. It would help if you have read the books so you have the general background info.
7. Listen to me and the mods (Who I will add later).
8. There will be a strike system, you get 1 strike for everytime you break a rule.
1 strike - warning
2 strikes - another warning
3 strikes - final warning
4 strikes - ban for 1 week
5 strikes - ban til I say you can return
6 strikes - permenant ban
9. Put 'Divergent!' in the keyword section of the form if you read the rules (Or you won't be accepted until you do)
10. Regular citizens just means that they don't have a big job like being a leader or something of major significance.
11. Only one divergent per user.
12. Divergents can have up to 3 aptitudes.
13. No having crushes on your own characters.
14. If your character is divergent, DO NOT GODMOD! They aren't invincible!

Personality: Kathleen can be reckless and she sometimes says the first thing that comes to her head but she is is a true friend. She's loyal to her faction, brave, smart with a bit of honesty and curiosity on the side. She tends to dive into things head first without thinking but she's good at thinking up things on the spot. One of her biggest flaws though is that, thanks to her Candor upbringing, she is a bit of a loudmouth and blunt at times which gets her into trouble.
Appearance:
History (Optional): Kathleen is the eldest child or her parents. Her mother was an Erudite transfer to Candor and her father transferred to Candor from Dauntless. She took mostly after her father personality wise, so they got quite close. She often felt like she didn't belong in Candor because of her habit to do things recklessly and her curiosity. Her closest friends were her younger siblings. Younger sister, Pauline, and younger brother Marco. When she took her aptitude test, she discovered that she was divergent wiuth aptitudes for Candor, Dauntless and Erudite. She spent the entire evening thinking about the next day and what she was going to choose. The next day at the choosing ceremony she ended up deciding on Dauntless, leaving her two siblings behind.

History (Optional): Pauline is the middle child, Kathleen being older and Marco being younger. After Kathleen left to become Dauntless she and Marco were heartbroken. The next year was Pauline's turn to choose. Like her sister, she chose to transfer to another faction. But instead of going after her sister, she chose Erudite. At Erudite she could be as curious as she wanted without having to worry but she will admit if you ask her that she's a little afraid of Erudite leadership

History (Optional): Marco is the most dislikeable of his siblings. He is a bit jealous of his sisters as he is the youngest, after they both left he felt betrayed and angry at them so he purposely made himself forget about them. He chose to remain in Candor.
