Victor sighed and pulled at his hair. "What happened to when women weren't allowed to speak unless spoken to?", he asked himself outloud.

"That, my dear friend, is stupid and that is why we may be as we wish." Alice said, smiling.

Victor stopped and looked at Alice carefully. "You make no sense woman, you know that?", he asked.

"Yes, I do. Insanity does that to a person." Alice said, smiling widely.

"So I am favored by an insane woman? Oh joy", Victor said sarcastically, "I might as well ask your hand right now".

"I'm not acually insane, I just act like it sometimes." Alice said, "And sure, go ahead. I'll accept." She said, smiling.

"I see this", Victor sighed and shoved his hands into his pockets, "And if I don't have the impulse to even be around you, I don't believe that I should propose".

"Aww." Alice said, placing a hand over her heart, "That really hurts." She said as her voice broke and she started crying.

"Please don't cry madem", Victor said and put a hand on Alice's shoulder, "I'm sorry if I hurt your feeling at all". It was instinct that drove him to apologize to Alice. It had been drilled into him by his own mother that you should treat any female well.
