Gilbert took a few breaths attempting to hide the shuddering of his chest. "What? Don't like when I smile?" He gave an exhausted sigh. "Eww, no. Alley." He looked around sheepishly "where are we? I thought dinner was about to start."

[The Sea]

Alek stopped, turning around to face Gilbert. His face showing concern, he asked,"Hey, are you alright?" referring to Gilbert's rapid breathing. 'I was planning on grabbing something from the kitchens, but we can go up to the Great Hall if you like."

{ Sorry if I take a while to reply, I'm having a bit of a problem involving a contact that seems like it isn't in my eye, but is, but isn't.}

"Veela aren't meant to be male. I have a lot of medical issues." Gilbert whispered as he looked back at Alek. "I'll be fine here shortly. . ."he took a couple of breaths, giving a timid smile as the flush dissapeared from his cheeks. "Either's fine with me. Actually I'd . . .umm. . ." he trailed off the flush returned this time it was darker "sorry, I'm awkward."

(Eww, sounds intense)

Alek tilted his head, before sitting down on the steps that led down to the kitchen corridor. "Actually, you'd what? And don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong." He studied Gilbert intently, relieved that his breathing was becoming more regular.

Gilbert sat next to Alek, his shoulder brushing the other male's. "I'd love to be able to sit and eat with you." He looked at his hands and fumbled a bit with the hem of his robes. "That is if you don't mind. . ." he smiled softly still looking at his hands.

Alek looked genuinely confused, and reached out to grasp one of the other boy's hands in one of his. His own hand was in sharp contrast to Gilbert's; his hands had ink under the nails, and quite a few callouses on the palms from quidditch. "Why wouldn't I want to eat with you? And do you think a summoning charm would work if I only said food? Because I'd prefer not to get up just yet."

"Of course its your Veela blood. Not like I'm attractive or anything." She joked, pushing him gently. She shook Alek's extended hand. As Gilbert left with the Hufflepuff, she grinned. Looked like he had a crush, by the scarlet color of his face. Thank Merlin he was just her friend, she was glad she wouldn't get jealous.
"Well," she said to her fellow Slytherin, "I'm having dinner, since it looks like my bestie has been stolen. If you want to join me, feel free. Don't annoy me, don't ask stupid questions, don't pull any dementor scary stuff on me, and we'll be all good. Also, can you cast a patronus, with the dementor blood and all?"

"I want to make sure that I haven't charmed you." Gilbert replied looking at where his hand was held gently, but firmly. His long, slim fingers and smooth pale skin almost a complete opposite of Alek's. He looked up at the other his face veiled slighyly by his silvery, almost colorless hair. "I've accidentally done it before, to a Male nurse. . ." He sighed, and gave Alek's fingers a soft squeeze. "But that was in the past." Gilbert, himself, was rather unwanting to move, enjoying the quiet empty hall.
