"Slytherin." He lifted his head with a bit of pride, eyes bright. His owl occupied the space beside him, ad he had one arm around the cage to keep it steady. "How long have you been going to Hogwarts?" he asked, Spook touching his beak to the finger Mason had slipped between the bars.

"This will be my fifth year" Lexie replies with a smile, "So that's makes me the year below you," she adds with a shrug, she was proud to be a ravenclaw and was extremely dedicated to her studies. She wanted to be at hogwarts, she wanted to learn magic, learn more about it, and hoped that it might someday lead her to finding out who her dad was.

"That it does." His owl leaned close to the bars, and he carefully tubbed behind one tufted ear with a small smile. An owl had been ridiculous to his parents, but it only gave him another connection to the wizarding world. If they only knew what Hogwarts really was, maybe Spook would make more sense to them. "I'm hoping to do more work with magical beasts this year. What about you?"

"Looking forward to more astronomy lessons and maybe some more illusion spells..." Lexie replies, giving her cat a scratch behind the ears, "But Magical beasts are cool too, third favourite subject.... not my best... but not my worst either"

"And I'm decent at illusions. I just can't wait until I finally turn eighteen. Once I can use magic outside of school, I won't have to worry about my parents as much." He glanced briefly up at Lexie. "Did your parents go to Hogwarts too?"

"I don't know about my dad... I've never met the man and I have no idea who he is, so I don't know if he went to hogwarts or not... and mum is a mundane..a muggle aware of magic. the aunt who raised me is a witch, she went" Lexie replies, with a shrug.

Mason shrugged in response. "Don't worry about it. My parents are both muggles, do they don't understand why I choose to go away to school every year. They don't know about what Hogwarts is really about."

"My uncle doesn't understand, but as long as I keep learning about the stars, he doesn't mind..." Lexie replies with a small laugh, her uncle Nick was strange like that.
