Marcei took a step back as Karkat began to yell unexpectedly. She stared at him fearfully, wondering why he suddenly seemed so defensive over the protection of his home--especially the top floor. She watched as he thumped upstairs, and sniffled once. She looked up at Kurloz again. "p-please excuse me a m0ment," she murmured, and followed Karkat's steps. She cringed. He had seemed so angry, and she didn't want to make him angrier. She thought of what to say to him as she softly walked up the stairs. Maybe he was acting that way because so many trolls were intruding in his home. Yeah, that was probably it. She could offer to leave. Slightly saddened by the fact she would most likely be heading to her own hive soon, she stepped up to the door where she assumed he had gone. Marcei hesitated before knocking. She readied herself for a barrage of insults and yelling, and gently rapped against the door. "karkat? are y0u ;n here?" she called softly, opening the door with a creak. As she spotted him, she bit her lip. ";-;'m s0rry...y0u must feel pretty...um...intruded," Marcei found herself struggling to find words as she stepped into the room. ";f ;t makes ;t better, ; can leave."

Karkat stayed silent as she knocked on the door, and looked in her direction when she opened the door. So she had come. When she suggested leaving, he immediately felt bad for being so horrible toward the stranger a moment before, since he had possibly hurt Marcei. Though he was lying to himself silently about not liking her, ... He kind of did. "NO.. DONT LEAVE YET.." he glanced off to one side self-consiously. "I DIDNT MEAN TO BE.. MEAN.."

Marcei blinked. Then she smiled. y0u weren't be;ng mean. any0ne c0uld get ann0yed ;f 0thers just kept barg;ng ;n l;ke ; d;d," she giggled. s0rry f0r c0m;ng upsta;rs, th0ugh, even th0ugh y0u t0ld me n0t t0." She stifled a sigh of relief. So he wasn't angry anymore. That was good. She wondered whether she should go downstairs alone, with him, or just stay up there. Probably not the latter, as he seemed very protective over his place up there.

Equius stumbled around in the dark room for a minute, eventually finding his sunglasses. He walked out of the observatory and put them on, smiling slightly. He poked his head in Canina's room to check on her, then went to go explore the hive a bit more. He wasn't exactly sure if he should stay, but he didn't really want to leave either... Eventually he decided to write a note on why he left. He found a bit of scratch paper and a pencil, then started writing a note. After the first word, the pencil lead snapped. Equius sighed, then started looking for another pencil. He found one, and the process repeated again and again until he ran out of pencils, forcing him to leave the note-
D --> My apologies, but you fell asleep. I brought you to your room then had to
That was where it ended. He was going to put 'leave', but he had just run out of pencils and couldn't find another.

"ITS ALRIGHT. I WAS JUST SEEING IF YOU WOULD COME UP ANYWAY OR NOT." He stood up and walked closer. Lowering his voice somewhat, he said, "IM PRETTY GLAD YOU DID COME.." then he walked past her and headed back down.

Marcei didn't know why, but that brought an intense blush to her cheeks that wouldn't stop burning. She stood there for a few moments before before rubbing her eyes with her wrists. She waited until the green glow faded from her cheeks before slowly following Karkat down the stairs. As she reached the foot of the steps, she realized her ears were now burning. She desperately attempted to cover them with her fluffy hair, patting it and looking in the opposite direction of the kitchen.

Canina awoke just as the hoofbeast crashed through her front door. But instead of making a loud sound, it just made a simple snap. With that thought, she awoke again. Canina climbed out of her recuperacoon and shook out her soaking hair. Peering through the darkness with ease (as she was used to being in the dark), she made her way into the hall. The followed the sound of wood cracking to find Equius standing in the kitchen, peering down at a piece of paper. She blinked, eyelashes dripping with the liquid from her recuperacoon. "Hey, you got & towel &nywhere?" She smiled.

"D --> Oh" Equius turned around to see Canina. "D --> Towel, um" he became flustered, looking for his towel before remembering it was wrapped around his neck. "D --> Yes, here" he handed the piece of cloth to Canina, smiling slightly. He was sort of glad that she had woken up. Remembering the note, he grabbed it and stuffed it in his pocket. "D --> You may want to sharpen your pencils"
