" Sure, why not?" I say without looking back. "Us deserters have to stick together. Besides, I'll have someone to talk to if Jaidex and Danasi decide to come over and fawn over each other."

Raven stopped suddenly as he asked, "Wait, you hang out with Jaidex and Danasi?" He stared at Zajivaya as he waited for her answer. He was hoping that she was joking, especially since the last time he ran into them, he ended up blinded by a flashlight.

"They stop by from time to time," I say. "Checking up on the poor amnesiac villain or whatever. I'll try to explain what happened to them if they come over, I don't want to be a bad host and let you get killed."

"I would appreciate that, thank you," Raven replied as he started walking next to her again.

"Don't worry about it," I say, walking into the lobby of my apartment building and holding the door for Raven. "Oh, and maybe watch out for my neighbor. She's a hero too, I think, but she doesn't know that I know. So, sleep with one eye open, I wouldn't put it past her to break into my apartment."

"Why? With me gone, you can live a normal life." Alex rolled his eyes at her.

(I am tired. I have had a long day. I will reply for this one character.)

Anastasia's smile quickly left. She turned her gaze sharply away, studying the ground several yards away. "Alex, do I even strike you as normal? Look at me. I melt in temperatures over fifty. My limbs can literally fall off in a puddle. I sleep in a freezer. Hell, I can't eat or drink anything unless it's at the right temperature so it doesn't melt me from the inside out." She tapped her staff against the end of the ground in agitated thought. "Even before this, I was never normal, not in an identity sense. But my case was closed years ago, when Rasputin had my family killed and I nearly died in a frozen lake. Only to be this. I can never be normal." She stood straight, no longer leaning against the wall. "You want to go? Go. I won't stop you. It's normal for a hero to have a villain anyway. I don't do 'normal'."

Alex knew she was trying to guilt trip him, so he stopped listening. He huffed. "Good ridence to you too." He adjusted the strap on his backpack and began to walk away from her again. So what if she melted and had food problems? At least she could touch the people she loved without fear of burning them.

"you're a nut." Danasi teased as she filled the pot up with water. "now you have to dry it off." she said and tossed him the dish towel. She carried the pot over to the stove, her arms still a bit sore, and turned on the stove so the water would boil. She put some of the sauce into the saucepan and turned some heat on it to warm it up.

(here's my last post. well Raven got into a fight with Victor and was thrown out. he met Zajivaya and restored her memories and is going to stay at her apartment for a while. other than that Anastasia had to rescue Alex when he got kidnapped and now they're going their separate ways on bad terms.)

Jaidex caught the dish towel with his good arm, only noticing how hard it would be to dry something with only one working arm. "Takes one to know one." He joked, though he was secretly worried about what would happen if they were suddenly ambushed .
