When she heard the bell ring for lunch she said, "alright, everyone time for lunch!" She watched the students pick up their stuff and race out of the training area. When they were all gone she walked out and started towards the cafeteria.

Gilbert sighed once more, blissfully unaware of the other teacher. He moved inside the building and paused, looking around.

She pulled open the door walking inside. Walking over to an empty table she sat down and pulled out her lunch.

Gilbert wandered past the table the other teacher sat at as he went to speak to the one of the workers. The worker nodded and handed Gilbert a premade lunch which he smiled at. He thanked the woman before heading back towards the tables. he sat the box down at the staff table and sat down, fiddling with the plain gold band on his left hand. He seemed to thank the ring and opened his lunch to start eating.

She looked over at the other teacher. She had no idea what to say or do. She was never a very social person outside of teaching. She decided to just focus on her food.

Gilbert looked up at his coworker. His left hand fiddled with the corner of the note his wife had placed in his lunch.
"I don't think we've met, I'm Instructor Trepè, but you can call me by my first name, Gilbert" he gave a warm smile and offered his right hand for the other to shake.

She blinked at him smiling shyly. Shaking his hand she said, "I'm Ms.Bradshaw. But, you can call me Rachel."

Gilbert nodded, he pulled back his hand and looked at the note in his hand.
"You have a family too, Rachel?" He asked showing her the note. "I miss them."

"No." She said looking down at her hands.

Gilbert frowned softly and looked at his lunch.
"Ah, so It's not as hard to stay here." He let out a heavy sigh "my youngest turns two tomorrow, and I am not going to be there for him"
