Penelope's eyes widened "O-oh...that's the reason why...uh, well, I guess love is complicated..." she mumbled and grimaced "Maybe he's different, sure the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree but who said he wants to hurt you?" she questioned. She looked at the ground then back at the girl "maybe you can give him a chance..."

Allen's eyes narrowed for a second, hating the question he had just been asked. Why of all things did she have to ask about his family? "No, I didn't learn my skills from any family members of mine. If anything, they were against my decision. My father was a doctor, you see, and he had hoped I would follow in his footsteps. As you can tell, I did not. Instead, I met a man who would become my mentor. He taught me everything I know. Five years ago, he was killed while in the middle of an investigation." Okay, so he didn't need to lie to her, meaning the last question of hers he could lie on and it wouldn't matter. "My turn. Miss Alice, if you were asked how you felt about me, would you tell the entire truth?" There it was. A simple question with only two possible answers. Both could end up leading to her being caught in a lie, and the moment she heard it she would know that much. The best part was that Allen had worded in it such a way that he needn't be the one asking the question that would catch her in a lie if she answered truthfully to this one. His host could easily trap her just as easily.
