"I don't really care at this point," Selene said with a sigh. She could always stand up and leave, that seemed like a good idea to avoid this. But shaking her head she remained on the stairs.

Sarah blew out and looked up at the ceiling. "Serdin and I had gotten in a fight. I didn't know I was going to have you at the time", she started, "I left and had you. The last thing I wanted was to get you involved in the pack... So I kept you away. I was only eighteen when I had you, wasn't ready to have a child at all. I left you with a close friend, hoping that you would be okay and grow up as normally as possible. Everyday... I've just been wondering what happened to you and Serdin. Yesterday I got a call saying that you both were coming".

"At least now I can die knowing I was a mistake. Thank you for that," Selene said as she stood and without another word left the house. She thought of running back through the woods. "What's the point in not? May as well get shot again if I'm going to die anyway, it'll be just a little ahead of schedule," she muttered but shook her head deciding against it as she started walking down the street.

Sarah shook her head and walked up the stairs the rest of the way. Why did all of this have to happen now? Selene didn't seem to understand what so ever about what she was saying. What was the point. Sarah walked into her room and collapsed on the bed, going into thought.

Lindin watched as Sarah walked by. He had been listening to the conversation and felt sorry for Selene. walking down the stairs he went out the door and followed Selene silently.

Selene continued walking down the street. "Guess Kacey will never get that letter. He said he found it. Shame, next time he finds out anything about me it will probably be a letter saying I'm dead, if anything," she muttered thoughtfully. Shaking her head she began to think of the wild life in Russia. She shook her head as she reached what looked like a park. Sitting down on a bench she put her head in her hands. "What's the point, I don't even know what I'm doing," she muttered

"Looks like you're taking a walk and sitting on a bench", Lindin said and sat next to her, "I'm sorry abou everything". He really was. It was a very sad life she had led.

"I think that's the first sorry I've ever heard in my life," Selene said laughing without humor. "Guess it will be the last one too, how wonderful," she dryly.

"Sorry", Lindin sighed and looked at his shoes, "Why are you so upset though? You found your mom. Got the answers you were looking for. Shouldn't you be a little bit happy that you accomplished what you wanted to?"

"Always the optimist huh?" Selene muttered with a weak smile. "I was also shot, and found out I'm probably going to be killed sometime in the future. Oh, and that I was a mistake. Another one of my favorites, my mother left me with someone that also left me, with foster parents who also left me...well that one repeats itself a lot. Then near the end I have foster parents that treat me like a dart board. And she didn't even freaking apologize," she said leaning back to stare at the sky. "I think you can already find Serdin's flaws, so I won't mention them. But what a great life I've led," she said with as sigh. "Can we go home now?" she asked looking back at Lindin.

"I think Sarah apologized enough to you", Lindin mumbled and looked at Selene, "I think that you need to straighten out your priortities before we go home though...".
