"Why did you leave me with John, or Harry, or Henry, or Joey or whoever you supposedly left me with?" Selene asked as she grabbed her shoulder with the opposite arm. When she put pressure on it, it didn't bother her as much.

"They were supposed to be your guardian", she replied, "They were supposed to take care of you, teach you, love you like their own. But obviously, that was a poor choice on my part". Sarah leaned back in her seat and looked at Selene with regretful eyes.

Serdin kept the same expression as usual. His stony eyes staring off at the wall.

That didn't really answer my question. Why didn't you keep me? I guess I understand that. You didn't want me. Neither did whoever you left me with, and I was only a dart board to the people I did end up with , she thought. Shaking her head she decided she didn't want the exact answer to that question. Then she looked at Serdin, not able to look at Sarah any more. "Now back to my original question from LA. What was that meeting about that you said was about me?" she asked

"It was about what you will mean to the pack later in life", Sarah said in place of Serdin who had remained silent, "You struck a deal with Serdin that you would become alpha after he steps down. Correct?".

Serdin nodded slightly and turned his gaze to Selene. His eyes were as empty as always.

"I suppose so," Selene muttered thinking back to the few days ago that she had joined the Pack of Darkness. She shook her head again trying to clear it. It was hard to think with the sharp pain in her shoulder. "But what was it specifically about?" she asked

"Wether you will be killed or not", Serdin stated and stood up. He walked quietly from the kitchen without another word.

Sarah drank some more coffee quietly. "Any other questions?", she asked politely, as if Serdin hadn't just told Selene about a small portion of the buisness that had been going on and then had walked out.

"Why would I possibly be killed?" Selene questioned still emotionless as she took in this bit of information.

"You need to fight another alpha", she sighed, "That's why your father wanted Kacey to be the alpha first of all. That nice bandage around his neck is proof why". Sarah looked calmly at Selene. It was difficult talking about this, but she knew she had to.

[DarkPanther]

"Then I guess we'll see how well I'll do," Selene said as she stood and walked back towards the stairs. She shook her head as she sat down on the stairs. "How ironic. My whole life I'm a human dart board, now I have to become a dart. Or be killed," she muttered putting her face in her hands as she sighed heavily

Sarah sat down next to Selene. "I'm sorry about all of this", she said softly, "You want to know why I left you in the first place I presume?"
