Selene didn't say anything as she soon fell unconscious after Lindin's comment. She vaguely felt someone bandaging her arm.

"All done", Sarah sighed after she finished bandaging Selene's shoulder, "She just needs to rest. You. Take her up to her room". She snapped her fingers at Lindin.

Lindin looked up and nodded. Sarah had snapped him back out of thought. "Yes ma'am", he muttered and picked Selene up. Carrying her to her room, he placed her on the bed and then walked back out.

After a few hours Selene woke up and looked around. She didn't remember how she got placed into this room. She stood and stretched, wincing at a pain in her shoulder. "Oh right, I was shot," she muttered beginning to remember what had happened. She looked at the window and saw light streaming through, and shook her head. "How long was I asleep?" she murmured stepping outside of her room

"A few hours", Lindin said and stood up. He had been sitting outside her doorfor the past hour. "You missed lunch", he chuckled, "Your mom is a good cook. I didn't bother asking what I was eating though. Afraid I may not of kept it down if I did..."

"I'm not really that hungry at all," Selene muttered wincing as she moved her shoulder again. It was in pain when she moved it, and when she didn't. It hurt so bad she didn't feel like really doing anything.

"Your parents are down stairs if you want to talk to them", Lindin said softly, "You may want to go back to sleep though, I'm sure".

"Don't act nice to me because I got shot. I distinctly remember you being mad at me before that," Selene muttered walking downstairs. She looked in the living room, trying to find her parents.

Sarah and Serdin were talking at the kitchen table. Serdin looked towards where the stairs were. "Over here", he sighed. He could relate to the mental state that Selene was in right now and wasn't looking forward to the questions that were most likely to ensue.

Selene sighed as she walked towards the kitchen, looking back at the stairs to see if Lindin was still there. She shook her head looking away from them as she approached her parents. She looked right at Sarah and said one word. "Why?"

Sarah took a sip of coffee from her mug. "Why what?", she asked and looked at the table. It was worn and had plenty of scratches from God knows what.
