Alex muttered irritably to herself as she wandered through the forest, playing with the lighter in her pocket. It was stupid really- the thing wasn't even that high tech. But since her phone didn't seem to work here, it was the last bit of connection she had to her home, her shop, and most importantly Momoko.

It wasn't until she realized that there was a shuffling of leaves coming from her left that she paused, taking in her surroundings. There was a small figure in strange clothing, facing away from her with what looked like a... Sword? "Hey," she called out in Japanese. "How'd you get here, kid?"

(Just for future reference, anything in italics will be Japanese for Alex. But she also speaks English fluently, so no big.)
