That gave me the burst of energy i needed to lunge foward at him and with my unbroken hand balled in a tight fist i hit him square in the Jaw knocking him to the ground and pulled Sammi gently behind me, "Now im pressing charges on you for assault" I growled as the police rushed in and i told them what happened and that i was pressing charges on him for what he did to Sammi.

Sammi cowered behind him. She was scared that this would just make her brother more mad. Darrel glared at Jake as he got escorted out of the room by the police. Sammi closed her eyes, wishing it would all just go away.

I sighed and watched him being escorted out and held on the table for support now. "I know you probably hate me for doing that but I cant see you get hurt by him again" I said quietly

"Jake, get back in bed." Sammi said. She was trying to keep herself together. She rubbed her arm and sighed.

"C-Can i just say something first?" I asked softly turning not only to go to the bed but to look at her in the face when i told her this.

"What Jake?" Sammi asked as she looked up at him. She took a deep breath and ran her hands through her hair.

I could make my way over to her and held her hands in mine, well one was in a cast but still, "About what you said before you left...You are important than everyone else in my book. Sammi if it--It wasnt for you i'd be in a coma or worse..The only reason i get out of these things alive is because of you."

Sammi looked at the ground. "Then why do you want to take a break? I want to help you through this not stand by why you get hurt." she kind of thought it was awkward with everyone else in the room.

"Because i know that if you try and get between my dad and I..." I sighed almost choking back on my tears. "I-I wont be able to stop him, He doesnt let anyone get between us nor does he let them walk away from it" I said tears falling from my eyes

"Jake, I will do anything to stay with you." Sammi looked up at him. She had tears streaming down her face. "I just want to be with you."
