Sergey's cerulean eyes stared down at the test that had been placed on the desk. The grade of 56 had been written in a bold carmine and circled thrice. He had failed once again. The word Really? had been written at the top of the page, showing the teacher's frustration. They were nearly halfway through the semester, and he had yet to pass a single test. Sergey frowned and shoved the paper into his binder. What did that teacher want from him? Algebra was stupid anyway; math was supposed to have numbers, not letters. Sergey had recently taken to answering 'find x' questions by drawing an arrow to said x and writing here it is. That of course only frustrated the teacher more and caused him to lose even more points. A student was unfortunate enough to look at him, and he returned her gaze with a sharp glare. The student quickly found something else to look at. That was what social interaction typically consisted of for Sergey. He was able to distance himself from others with looks alone. Not that he was unattractive--he just wore a hateful look on his face most of the time. If looks could kill there would be mass genocide everywhere Sergey went. It was a great way to keep people from attempting to converse; so far he'd only had to talk a few times, and that was to teachers.
The reason Sergey wanted others to stay away was because he believed that he knew how they really were. The majority of people only ever cared about themselves, and he wanted no part of that. He had a little brother that depended on him, and he had to protect him from the world. If he didn't, society would ruin him. He'd turn into one of.. them. He couldn't let that happen to Stanislav. Sergey wasn't driving people away because he hated everyone's guts, it only looked that way. He was really driving them away out of fear. If anyone saw what he was actually like, then life would be twice as hard. He saw everyone as a threat, so he treated them properly.
A sigh escaped his lips as the bell rang and dismissed him from class. He was free to go to lunch, which he was lucky enough to share with Stanislav. He stood and took his time gathering his things as everyone made a mad dash to the door. The teacher was exclaiming, "The bell doesn't dismiss you, I do!" No one was listening, as usual. Sergey was the last one out. He flowed into the traffic of the hallway, walking along with a respective personal bubble of space. Students had learned long ago not to bump into him. When he reached the cafeteria he walked to the least populated area, which happened to be in the far right corner. He leaned against the wall and waited for his younger brother, who had a tendency of appearing only after everyone else had arrived.


Stanislav shivered anxiously as he filled out a worksheet. It was quite easy for him despite the majority of the class struggling with it. He was an honor student, and at the complete opposite side of the academic spectrum in comparison to his brother. He knew that the bell for lunch would ring at any minute, then there would be a mass rush of people to leave. He was already planning his escape plan to minimize contact with other people. The bathrooms down the hallway usually weren't very busy during that time, so he could easily hide in there. He bit his lip as he thought about it in depth. He was so socially anxious that he went to extremes to avoid people. He was too afraid that others wouldn't like him.
Stanislav was paying more attention to how he was going to get around the other students than the worksheet, but he still managed to complete it with minor difficulty. He turned it in and sat at his desk, burying himself within his large coat. It wasn't so much that the coat was large as it was him being tiny. Pixies were normally shorter than the average human, but Stanislav was scrawny even by pixie standards. His coat was way too big for him, but he liked it that way. It was almost able to double as a blanket.
Stanislav flinched when the bell finally rang. It was much too loud in his opinion. He quickly threw on his messenger bag and rushed out the door. He was the first one out due to his desk's position at the front of the class. He had strategically chosen it on his first day specifically for the reason of a quick retreat. He deemed walking too slow, so he flew to the bathrooms. Unfortunately they were occupied by a group of jocks that had gotten out of class early. Stanislav quickly went back into the hallway, desperately looking for a place to hide from the inevitable flow of traffic. He elected to hide in the janitor's closet, and slipped iniside just as most of the students were coming through.
He shivered in the dark as he waited out the passage. It took only a few minutes for the hallway to be completely clear. Stanislav cracked open the door and looked left and right before walking back into the corridor. He closed the door and walked to the cafeteria, where Sergey was waiting for him.

Jocks, populars, cheerleaders, goths I went by the hall and listed them of one by one it was my first day but I was not going to be unprepared. I was pretty skinny I guess was beautiful, but had a short temper that went of very quickly. My usual tactic for a new school was to find a place to sit at the start then find where the library was. Usually worked, but this school had so many students each with a different style. I couldn't find a non self obsessed girl or guy in here! So I avoided people hovering right above them and followed the signs to the cafeteria. I got some food and went to the line.
