Blu was subject to one of the worst rainstorms the Amazon could encounter, and he was flying through it. His wings were being battered by rain and wind, and he struggled just to stay above the trees. Electricity crackled overhead and around, making his wings sway. He cringed as lightning sliced through the sky towards him. The blue macaw tried to stop midflight in order to avoid the bright light ahead of him, but was sucked into the void of light. The last thing he remembered was thinking of Jewel and his three fledglings, and how he'd never see them again.
A few hours later the same macaw awoke alive and well in the middle of a meadow, dotted with little white flowers. He was facing towards the sky, wings outstretched on each side of him, and clawed feet in the air. "Oh... what happened?" he said, moving one wing so that it was shielding his eyes from the sun. His mind was a blur as he tried to remember what had happened and where he was.

"Am... Am... Am-i-yurg... no... Am-I-yer-ee?" Dusty fumbled over her name, "Was that right?"
