I nodded. " yeah." I don't understand by in still being nice to this guy! Maybe because he reminds you of Derek. my mind replied, I frowned at myself. Derek was my best friend, we were goin into dauntless together, trying to do what we both loved but still staying with eachother, until he decided to be erudite and stay with his girlfriend, who by the way, is a complete B with an itch, whom he just met before the ceremony...and I am now alone, with nobody to understand me because I am the natural B with an Itch, but Derek saw through that which is why we became friends. He watched as she did so, following after her. He knew she was just a quiet person, and he wasn't going to ask her if she was okay again...but he was going to talk to her. "Serenity, have you ever thought of why he left your faction?" It was an easy question, for him at least.

Those words made my mind fly back to my brother, who chose candor at the choosing ceremony, I was completely heartbroken, knowing I wouldn't be able to ever see him again, candor was just..... What he wanted anyways I guess... but why would my brother ever think I would ever be heartbroken about it? Probably bcause I was pretty much a complete nobody who never had the guts to say anything to anybody. I gulped, "Maybe....I guess, I don't know..." I shrugged, thinking about the lie that I just said, I completely knew why I left my faction, I just never wanted to talk or think about it. Abnegation was just.... Well..... ugh I sighed, looking down, trying to forget about my brother, I fiddled with my fingers.

He smiled at the obvious reluctance in her voice. He just let it go, because he didn't like the question either, but for her, he would answer this. "I guess I left because of my family. They always expected me to be perfect...and I guess this is a place where I don't have to be." He smiled, although she couldn't see his face. Small dimples formed at his pale cheeks.

"Alright," Jayce said, pushing his chair away from the table, and holding out his hand to help Luna up. "Let's go."

"Okay" I smiled as I took his hand and pulled myself up

Jayce wove his fingers through hers and led her out of the mess hall, heading for the Pit. "Did you sleep well?" he asked.

I nodded "Yeah, you?" I asked walking with him

Jayce smiled. "I slept well." He pushed open the doors that led to the Pit. "Here we are. Where do you suggest we go first?"

"Okay," Jayce agreed, glancing down at his front. "I sort of need a new one anyways." A huge crease and sweat stains covered the front of his shirt, and he plucked it away fron his stomach. "This one is absolutely gross. Not a very good impression for visitor's day, which, by the way, I should introduce you to my family."
