After i hung up i sighed giving her a look that was gentle and understanding. "Let's talk while we get you cleaned up. He'll make it by the time they get here" I said and gently lifted her to her feet and walked her to the kitchen sink. "Dont beat yourself up over this baby" I said softly

Carmen shook her head, "I shot my brother....it's kind of hard not to feel bad." She said, her voice only holding a slight bit of sarcasm. She put her hands under the warm water, flinching as the water turned bright red. She felt like she wanted to hurl. "Jacob...what if they decide to take me to jail...what will I do?" She asked suddenly, now focusing on getting all the blood off her ring.

I stood next to her with my arms on the counter locked straight and my hip cocked on one side. "You wont go to jail. You did it out of self defense." I said. "I will make sure they wont put you in Jail." I said looking down at the counter

Carmen sighed, and turned the water off, looking down at her hands. "He's jealous of me. Because our parents gave me all the money, and they didn't even want him....." She said slowly, clenching her hands into white knuckled fists. "He wanted me to die, so he could just have his share of the money....." She could feel tears fsall down her cheeks. "He said he was going to shoot me, if I didn't go with him. So I kicked the gun from his hand, and pushed him against the wall. When I grabbed the gun, he sent Kouba after me, and he bit my wrists." She turned her hands over and revealed jagged bite marks, the reason why her hands were so bloody."When Kouba bit me, I fired the gun, and hit hit him in the leg, then I fired again and hit him in the shoulder." She said softly.

"Come here" I said softly taking her in my arms and hugging her. "You did what you should have, even if he was your brother." I said softly then i saw the blue and red flashing lights reflect on the walls as the police arrived.

Carmen pressed closer to Jacob when she heard the sirens. "I love you Jacob." She whispered, crying against his chest. "But...what if Ashton...dies? Wouldn't I be tried for murder? THen I'll be no better than the rest of my family." She muttered.

"Dont say that Carm. He will make it. If not then I got connections. You can kill twenty people and I'll still love you for the Carmen i fell in love with. You are so much better than your family." I whispered

Carmen sighed, and a slight smile came to her face. "You're such a good person." She murmered, and saw the large head of Kouba peeking around the corner. "What do you think they'll do with him? He technically is a danger....but I don't want him to be out down." She said, pointing to the large dog.

"I dunno. I mean If you wanted to we could keep him" I said looking at him.

Kouba shrank back when they looked at him, his low whining bark echoed through the hall. Carmen rubbed her wrists and leaned against the sink. "I have a better idea." She said, but paused as police officers and paramedics r=burst into the room. Kouba growled and headed back up to where Ashton was.
