Tori was trying to think of a conversation starter (if she told her parents that they would never believe her) whilst simultaneously pondering whether Artemis would have any political connections that her parents would approve of. She tried her best to avoid the world of politics associated with the ministry and the pureblood families but coming from her family it was a near impossible task to achieve, so she tends to be fairly adept at picking out influential people and families (a trait drilled into her by her own family) but she didn't really recognise the name Artemis. It took a minute but she finally noticed the cat sitting beside the other girl and jumped on the opportunity. Might as well go with the obvious.
"You have a cat, what kind is he?" Tori asked, cringing internally at her lack of social skills. She could entertain a room and pull strings behind the scenes at any one of her parents parties but put her in a face to face one on one conversation for a any reason other then manipulation and she started flailing for words. Apparently she only worked properly with an ulterior motive, go figure.

Artemis watched the girl silently as she waited, seeing that Tori was thinking of something to say. She hoped that it wasn't anything politicle, she had enough of that at the get together a that her parents held on the rare occasion they were at the house that she stayed at, the family owning several estates around the world. She had been to quite a few of the ones overseas when she had travelled with them though gave up with that in her third year at Hogwarts. Her parents both held seats on the British international confederation of wizards, that was as much of politic related content that she really saw necessary of her knowledge though had picked up many trivial content from pointless conversations of her parents work colleagues while she usually sat curled up on her black wing backed chair, unable to leave or do anything as it would be 'rude'.
Artemis gave a sight smirk at the girls conversation starter. "She" she corrected shortly "Norwegian Forest cat" she finished her answer before looking over the girl and her possetions for any animals, "do you have anything?" She asked looking over to her cat and giving it a soft pat.

Tori shook her head in response to Artemis' question. "My parents don't approve of anything with claws that could potentially damage their precious furniture. I've always liked cats, though I think if I were to ever have a pet it would have to be an owl, they seem to be the most useful." This was true, she did think cats were adorable, especially the younger ones, but an owl would carry mail and could fly. I wish I could fly she thought wistfully, turning to look out the window, it would be amazing to be able to soar above all of my problems, leaving them far below me on the ground.
"Your parents don't mind your cat? What's her name?" While trying to have a normal conversation (key word here being trying) Tori was also trying to figure out if this other girl had any ulterior motives, she didn't know much about her after all and according to her parents' everyone is guilty until proven innocent. It was times like these that Tori wished she had an ulterior motive, it made situations so much easier for her and she might not look like such an idiot. If her mother could see her now, she would be in for a lecture that could fill two meters of parchment.
What is wrong with me? I know how to have a conversation, I scope out prospective beneficial relationships for my parents all the time. I need to learn to socialise with people my own age, that's what the problem here is.

I sighed when she sat down, and assumed I should be somewhat nice for once since it's my last year at hogwarts.
" Hi gryffindor." I said.

Isobella looked ar her muggle clothing "is it that obvious I'm a Gryffindor?"

I nodded. " little bit." I said to her.

"Well" Isobella sat down infront of her "your acting like a slitherin in the gyffindor cabin.." She smirked and stood up "Imma go look for the trolly.. Want a licorice wand?"
