The small boy stayed fainted in her arms, body limp. His blood hardened over the gashes and stopped anymore from spilling.

Naoki stopped after an hour of walking. She made a hand signal and spit out lava into the air, then quickly hardened it so it made a patch of shade for them. Naoki then pulled out a rag and a bottle of water. She drenched the rag in water, then put it over Ito's face to keep him cool.

"So you two know each other?" I asked.

[smiley kidd]

"Nnh!" The boy winced from the cold, blinking his eyes open. They widened as he gasped, trying to sit up quickly but cried out and fell onto his back again, panting. "Baka.. I told you to leave-... Wait. This looks different? Where am I?" Ito's voice was back to its boyish tone with a hint of weakness from blood loss as he tried to scan his blurry eyes around the new scenery. i haven't left the deep woods for so long.. I don't know how to function anywhere else, in a community.. "who are you..? What is your name..? You've seen my other half so why aren't you afraid?!" Tears beaded in his eyes as he balled up his fists. "I don't understand.."

[fish sticks]

".... You're in the desert... My full name is Naoki Atsuko..... I'm trying to be nice..." Naoki answered his questions.

[smiley kidd]

"..don't.. I..I don't understand it.. I don't like things I don't understand." Ito panted gently, looking at her closely as he swallowed a lump in his throat. "You.. Why? Why are you nice to me.. After.. After-.." The boy looked away, tears selling in his eyes again.

[fish sticks]

"Because I'm a nice person..." Naoki drank some water and adjusted her glasses.

The boy struggled, pushing his tattered body into a sitting position, crossing his arms in a resting way on both knees, crossing his wrists. He bowed his head, glancing from the corner of his cat like eye. "..,thank you, I suppose.. Though a monster like me doesn't deserve it." Ito began to pick at his scabs again nervously. "..I should be getting back.. I can't stay near people." Ito struggled to stand, but fell onto his hands and knees immediately, panting roughly with the effort. "D-damn.."

Naoki sighed and picked up Ito. "Put this over your face.. I doubt that you can survive scorching heat...." She said, handing him the wet rag.

Ito took it, too weak to struggle. Usually that's why he mostly covered himself with clothing, because of his pale skin. "Where are we going?"
