Selene narrowed her eyes at Ford and then kicked at him from under the table. She gently kicked the shin of Ford's left leg and then smiled childishly, rejoicing over her meaningless victory. Selene crossed her arms in front of her chest and then raised one eyebrow, staring at Ford with an angered but hilarious expression on her face. "He threw a spoon at me..." She grumbled under her breath, puckering out her lower lip in a childish fashion.

Ford chuckled a little bit when Selene kicked his leg, which was only prolonged when he heard about the spoon. Although Ford obviously didn't enjoy hearing his Selene had been treated like that, it was still a little bit funny, and she hadn't been injured herself. "Don't let him bother you," Ford stated as he began to catch his breath. Lowering his tone to just above a mumble, he continued, "he's just jealous because he's not as beautiful as you." After forcing the statement out of his mouth, he began showing obvious signs of his struggle to hold back his laughter, but he managed to brace himself.

Selene rolled her eyes at Ford's laughter, but returned to her serious self when he complemented her. She blushed a soft shade of pink and then kicked Ford's shin again, but this time harder and with much more ferocity. "Are you sure you want to say stuff like that in public?" Selene asked, her voice in a whisper but loud enough for Ford to hear. She glanced at the other customer's with the side of her eye, noticing Ford's outburst of loud laughter had drawn some unwanted attention over to their table.

Ford's laughter began to subside after the second kick, this time causing him to grab his leg. The pain wasn't too bad, but he definetely wasn't expecting the second one. Ford began to look around the room, and it was obvious that Selene had been right. There were several people now staring at the two of them, and Ford kept quiet until they began their normal activities. Ford lifted a hand to call over the waiter for a check, but it was clear the man didn't have any desire other than his pay to serve either of the two.

Selene frowned and then let out a soft sigh, regretting having kicked Ford the second time. She looked over at the waiter with the side of her eye and then bit into her lower lip, holding back a growl. Selene's ears flattened down against her head and then her tail bristled up. She turned her gaze back over to Ford and then she laid one hand on her metal collar.

Ford looked back towards Selene for a moment as the waiter began to trudge towards the table. Her position had reminded him that she still wore the collar, though he had to admit, it did somewhat suit her. He turned back towards the waiter, who handed him a check, before leaving. Ford sighed as he read the bill. Although the prices were understandable, a quick examination realized that the diner had added a 20% tip automatically; something the waiter definitely didn't deserve. He took out his wallet, and regretfully paid the check, though the quality of the service led him to take the extra minute to dig out exact change.

Selene rubbed the back of her head, it was still sore from the impact of the spoon. She looked at Ford with curious eyes, wondering how much the food had actually cost. Selene sighed and then slipped out of the booth, scanning the other tables and who sat at them. She dusted off her shorts, even though there was nothing but a few crumbs on them, and then turned to face Ford. "Thanks," Selene said softly, smiling at Ford for a brief moment.

Ford nearly reached out to rub her head, but hesitated, and decided to lower his arm after remembering they were in public. He looked back at the money he had left on the table with the check. Seeing it untouched, he began walking back towards the entrance, assuming Selene would follow. "Hmph! Stupid tip..." he began mumbling on his short journey.

Selene frowned when Ford's fingers fell short of her head, but knew that he had done the right thing, after all there were many people around. She bit into her lower lip and then her ears pressed back against her head. Selene jogged up behind Ford and then decided to keep a distance between them. She shifted to her wolf form and then side stepped away from Ford, just in case someone was watching.

Ford walked out of the diner, holding the door open for Selene. He tried to make his presence seem casual, though considering how roughed up he was, it was difficult. He began to let go of the door when he heard the first body exit, though he quickly realized it was a different party, and reaffirmed his grip, now waiting for Selene to exit the building.
