"Oh, I'm sure." Ella leaned against the table and laughed a bit. "I just wish he had taken it out on some of the others too. But... It's not my job to question orders. It's my job to follow them." She rubbed gently at the dark circles under her eyes, which had been longer in the making than just one sleepless night. "As far as the Corporal goes... The 'cleaning type' does not begin to describe his compulsion for spotlessness. I keep thinking I read about a disorder that often manifests itself in that way." She shrugged. "I don't know, I think telling him he's mental is a pretty bad idea.

Clasping his hands together tightly and resting his chin
on the knuckles, Kai searched his mind for any knowledge
of the 'disorder' that Ella spoke of. Yet, he couldn't find the
name, though the boy clearly remembered reading of a
similar situation that was once common in many adults.
What was it...OCP? No..OTC?..No..ACD?..No, that's definitely
not right..OCD? No..wait, that may be the abbreviation. OCD.
Perhaps that is the correct term, but I shouldn't think aloud if the
possibility is evident that I am incorrect. "I do understand that
Levi's Squad is very advanced in their work, and I admire that
you have the ability to handle such intensity."
Kai stood up, lifting his tray of food. He gestured
to the remainder of the group as Lucy slinked away, and asked,
"Are any of you finished with your food? I can take
over your dishes if you are. I'll be headed to the forest for some
Maneuver Gear practice once I set the plates down; do you want
to come?" After he spoke, the tall cadet felt a pang of
guilt stab his stomach as he realized the rudeness of his sudden
leave in the midst of his and Ella's conversation. It was not like
Kai to be so ignorant. He dipped his head in a small "excuse me"
to Ella, in hopes that their conversation could continue if she and
the others could join him.
