Chris smiled at Sylvia. He flushed a little darker. "Ok, but if anyone asks, this was your idea!' He teased. "Hey Syl? Can I...can I tell you a secret?" He watched his feet as they walked.

Sylvia tilted her head to the side. "Oh of course you can! Tell me!" she said, her eyes glittering now that a secret was about to be shared. She waited eagerly for her friend to speak as she arrived at the appartment complex. She walked over to the elevator and pushed in the key, the elevator bringing her to her apartment.

Scorlaen looked up in surprise as he took her hand, but didn't pull away. She glanced down at their hands and then back up. "Yeah," her response to his question was a little sharper than she had meant it to be and she winced. "Sorry," it was a quiet apology, as she still couldn't get her emotions under control. After a moment though, she lifted her head and walked in the direction of the pizza place, her hand still entwined with Joseph's. Scorlaen tried to ignore the fact that there was a giant bird on her shoulder, but the raven's talons were sharp and digging into her skin. "Stupid bird," she muttered, trying to shake the raven from her shoulder but failing. The talons simply dug deeper into her shoulder.

Joseph tilted his head to the side at her sharp response, not quite understanding why it sounded to snappy. he heard her apology and smiled slightly. "it's fine." he said softly in response. he noticed that she hadn't let go of his hand yet and smiled slightly. he also noticed that the bird wasn't going away. he sighed softly, hoping that she didn't hear. he really wanted to become friends with scoralen, mainly because it seemed as though she needed a friend sometimes.

Scorlaen's eyes found the pizza place easily as soon as they were in view of it. Angelo's Pizza, it was called. She smiled slightly as she reached for the door with her free hand. When the bird lifted from her shoulder to perch above the doors, she ducked inside, stifling a shudder as a blast of warm air hit her face. The smell of pizza and pasta made her take a deep breath. She hoped Joseph hadn't heard the tiny sigh of contentment slip from her lips. She gently pulled her hand form his and strode up to the counter.
"Why, hello Scorlaen. Just the same today?" the older man behind the counter smiled, but Scorlaen simply nodded, glancing at Joseph.
"What do you want on yours?" her voice was soft, slightly wavering. She ignored the surprised look on the older man's face, keeping her eyes on Joseph. She had never come here with anyone else, not for years, anyway. And she always got the same thing, never speaking so much as a word. She had been getting the same thing since before her best friend's death, so there wasn't really any need to say anything.

Chris fidgeted as they waited for the elevator. When it dinged he stepped into the elevator and waited for Sylvia. "Ok here goes nothing." He cleared his throat. "Well you see, Syl we have been best friends for ages right?" he paused to look at Sylvia. "We are headed to you're apartment and I was thinking about something. Well you see, I know this guy.... He looked at his feet. "Aaaaaand he kinda has this crush on you...." he chewed on his lip. "AndthatguywhohasthismajorcrushonyouismeSyl." He said the last part really fast then looked up at the ceiling still biting his bottom lip, turning a light shade of pink.

Joseph smiled as the warm blast of air hit his face, relieving it of the brisk feel from the air outside. he watched as Scoralen let go of his hand and walked up to the counter. the older man seemed to know her fairly well as a customer, and looked surprised when he saw Joseph. he smiled slightly when he heard her ask what she wanted on the pizza. "um...i'll just have cheese." he responded quietly, not wanting to seem piggish.

Sylvia's eyes widened when she heard what Chris had said. she looked over to him, studying his facial features to make sure he was actually telling the truth. she blushed when she realized he was and looked down at the ground, chewing on her bottom lip. "Christopher...?" she addressed him with a soft voice, "i really like you too..." she confessed. she looked back up at him, right as the elevator dinged and the doors opened. she took his hand and walked to the door to her apartment, watching him.

Scorlaen nodded and glanced at the older man, who had heard the request and gotten to work. after a few moments, she went back over to Joseph and led him to her favorite table. It had a painting of wolves chasing an elk in the snow. It didn't take very long before their pizza's were out. Scorlaen's had Canadian bacon, sausage, and olives. She smiled as she picked the olives off and ate them alone. then she picked up a piece of her 9" pizza and took a bite. Scorlaen used a little bit of magic to cool her pizza quickly so it didn't burn her mouth and then continued to eat. glancing over at Joseph, she tilted her head slightly. "How do you like it?" he voice was quiet, but the sides of her mouth were turned up just enough to be a small smile.

Joseph smiled slightly when they got the pizza. He was amazed at how delicious the dish was. He took a slice of his nine inch pizza and took a bite, the warm sauce nearly burning the roof of his tongue. He sighed, eating it slower. "It's really good...how did you come across this place?" he asked, having never heard of it before.

Scorlaen smiled brightly at the beginning of his comment. But then her face fell. Landon had brought her here five years ago for her birthday is how she had found it. Scorlaen looked away, tempted to use magic to get rid of the tears threatening to spill over. Her eyes fell on a painting across the room and she blinked rapidly to try and get rid of the tears. When she finally spoke, her voice was soft and unstable. "My best, my best f-friend. He-" she had to cut her words short and close her eyes to keep her magic under control. She refused to lose control in front of this boy. But she could feel her magic spiraling out of control, could feel the slight wind in her hair that didn't really exist.
