Echoji tilts his head. "Why so scared?" He questions, sounding confused as well as hostile. "I'm not going to bite... Probably."

"It's okay to talk." Echoji says, tilting his head again and frowning ever so slightly. "It's alright." He says.

"Neither do they have alignments." Calmanda says. "If blood colour is truly the only difference, then they are far different from what I had imagined."

"Yeah...They all have their own horn shape, style, quirk, and stuff but, yeah," I nod again.

Echoji stays silent as well, looking down and feeling awkward now. He didn't know how to handle people, being the alley-walker that he was. All he knew was scaring people.

"Well, the majority of those ring true for members of any race, minus the horns, of course." Calmanda says. "I can see discrimination in the cherub race, but in others, not so much."

"Every race has members who are rude, Rose. I would expect an intellectual girl such as yourself to know that already." Calmanda says, shrugging her shoulders.

"Don't go..." Echoji says. "You're the only one to talk to me... Like, ever. Since I came here, anyway." He says.

I trudged into the lunch room, my fingers clutching my bag while a shaken sigh drifted from my mouth. Of course, being shorter than 90% of everyone in the school had a serious disadvantage, being shoved to the floor or into a locker by mistake. Pain was crawling from my right side when I was thrown against a locker by the crowd, but I managed to make it to the lunch room. Thank cod. Waddling over to a bench on the far side of the cafeteria, near a window, I opened my bag and dragged my sketch book, a small sandwich, and a tiny water bottle. Taking a pencil out from the slot in the front, I pushed my sketching stuff against the window/wall thing while I quickly dug into my sandwich.
