I smiled.
"Cool. With everything going on, I'm sort of expecting everyone to be a little in the clouds. So, what's on your mind?" I asked, leaning against the wall with my hands in my jeans pockets. "Other than the obvious, of course."

"A lot right now," I murmured, not knowing what to say. "I guess... It's kinda like this. My life had structure, routine, familariality, but now it's a scattered mess. I just kinda wish I had something- Someone- in my life, that was just always there for me. I have you, Roan, and Astrid, but it's just not the same as family. I just wish I had my family back. And don't get me wrong. I absolutely love your company, it makes this life better. I couldnt go on without it. If you stopped talking to me, I don't know what I would so with myself." I rambled, and eventually just stopped talking. When I was younger, my parents had been killed by peacekeepers and memories of the haunted me. I hadn't realized it, but as I was talking, tears started stinging at my eyes. I blinked them back and looked over at Jaylon.

Roan pressed on her head until the pain dulled then closed her eyes. She just laid there quietly as the time ticked by. This was her new world, silence.

Basil bumped into Zaire as she was carrying now her only possessions to a bunk she had been assigned. She looked him up am down warily. "Hey." She said in a totally not at all suspicious voice.

I raised a skeptical eyebrow at the girl who'd walked into me.
"We don't have to kill each other any more," I said, rather than returning her greeting. "You can drop your guard."

Jaylon

I smiled softly at Hazel. I knew her story, and I knew that this whole thing must have dug up some bad memories for her.
"I understand," I said softly. "But I promise that everything'll be ok. We're all here for you."

Offering a soft smile, I leaned a bit closer. "Thank you," I said softly, pushing the bad memories down and trying to focus on the good ones. I knew Jaylon was always there for me, and I couldn't ask for someone better. He put up with all my rambling, my stories, and my memories. The whole group was and I was so grateful to have them, even if my birth family was gone, I had a new family now.

Basil shook her head. "No I know that, sorry." Mshe looked up at him. "I'm just worried, my minds a bit preoccupied today." She looked up at him, her eyes still guarded. "I'm not really used to just trusting people." She gestured to the jabber jays.
