Aster probably thought that Menekai was planning on killing Jade, and if he thought that then Menekai might have a fight on his hands. He took a step back, an inch from the edge of the building. "Yesss aren't you the little detective eh?" Menekai hissed.

"well what do you want?" Aster asked with crossed arms. he knew he shouldn't jump to conclusions, but he was ready to defend Jade who was behind him at any given second.

Menekai almost took another step back, feeling with his foot for more of the roof behind him, but all he found was empty air. Crud, he was cornered. He decided the best way to get out of this predicament with no violence was to answer. " I wanted to confirm my sssussspisssionsss on whether or not you two were goddesss and familiar, I was ssuccessssful. I also wanted to see where your ssshrine was. My actionsss were of pure curiosssity." He answered, it was only half true though. What he really wanted was to be a familiar again. But saying that would sound stupid and childish

It didn't look like the two were a threat to Menekai, so he started to let his guard down a bit. He let his snake tail come out from its uncomfortable hiding spot for once, why not let them see him for who he really was? "Quite." He answered. "And are you sssatisssfied?
