Faerin looked over at Nighthawk falling asleep, and his wing draped over him. He smiled at Nighthawk before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
That night, he had a dream.
He was in a hall, a giant hall. It was about 100 ft tall and it was more like a corridor, with ten giant torches on either side. At the other end, sat a throne made of bones. Faerin looked behind him. You could see open land, but everything was contorted. The trees were gnarled and leafless, and the sky was blood red. Suddenly it disappeared and there was just a stone wall. Faerin bit his lip. The only way to go, was forward. He walked towards the throne, his every step echoing in the chamber. Finally he got to the foot of the throne, and he felt a chill of death. Suddenly, a whisp of shadow came out of nowhere and rested on the throne, and a man appeared. He was a handsome man, with messy black hair and tanned skin, but his eyes were a cold, ice blue. He looked at Faerin, then he laughed. "So this is the leader of the Seven Riders?" he stood up and walked around Faerin, observing him. Faerin stood perfectly still, his face scared, but stubborn. THe man finally stopped in front of Faerin. He towered the boy, so he knelt down and said "How do you think your going to protect Arlamore? Your just a boy who dreams of it"
Faerin was stubborn and he didn't say anything.
The man snarled and drew back his hand and at the moment Faerin realized what he was going to do, he was slapped by an unbelievable force. He was thrown 15 ft away and into a pillar. He groaned, feeling the back of his head bloody and he looked at the man. The man suddenly smiled, but it was a gruesome smile. Suddenly he leaped into the air, changing into a black, snake like dragon and pounced at Faerin.
Faerin sat straight up, panting. He could feel his heart beating fiercely in his chest and he looked over at Nighthawk who was still sleeping. He looked all around for the blue eyed man, but he couldn't see him. He breathed in relief and looked outside the cave to see morning daylight streaming in.
