Kiro:
I turn to her, my face dark with fear. "I can sense it. They- They killed him!" I clench my fist, slamming it against the wall. The knuckles split open, and blood trickles down my wrist. I punch the wall with my other hand, ignoring the surges of agony running up my arm. My ribs show even through my t-shirt. My stomach roars with hunger, making me buckle over. I lean against the wall, tears streaming from my eyes. I grasp something in my pocket. It's a tiny book. I open the first page. I choke down a sob at the first picture. I got the cameraman to take a picture of me and Hurricane. We're sitting in front of Mewtwo's cave, a grinning legendary behind us. I have my arm around my Pokemon, who has a smile in his eyes, mouth open and lips curled up at the corners, showing white teeth. He has his paw on my leg. Mewtwo stands over us. I think it's the only picture that has a mutant Pokemon smiling in it. It's not an evil smile, either. It's genuine, corners of his eyes wide, not narrowed. The serious expression is gone, the one that says he's been through everything. I trace my finger around Mewtwo's face. "You and me alike, buddy." I murmur. Both of us mutants, both of us misunderstood. A jolt of hope electrifies me. Suddenly, I feel a great need for the legendary's comforting gestures, his laughing smile, his concerned face. I nearly crumple the book with the need to be comforted. I flip the page. This one, I took myself. I can't help myself from laughing out loud. Mewtwo's grinning a goofy grin towards the camera, tail on fire. My Absol's bumping fists with the legendary, and I'm still running back to try and get in the picture. Oh, that crappy camera. We had so many good adventures with it. I turn the page. My camera flashed a second picture ten seconds after the first picture. I throw back my head, closing my eyes, laughing so loud my side hurts. Mewtwo has his mouth open in a laughing scream, flailing around after noticing his tail's on fire. Hurricane's on his back, howling with laughter, with feet in the air. I'm sitting down now, cracking up. All of these pictures are of me, Hurricane, and Mewtwo. Ah, that was the best night of my life. This time, Mewtwo has out out the light, but Hurricane's jewel on his forehead is glowing. You can barely see all of our faces in the dim light, but Mewtwo has a huge smile on, mouth open in laughter. Hurricane's blushing, embarrassed, and I'm laughing, pointing at Hurricane. The next one is our sad farewell. Mewtwo has tears in his eyes, begging us to visit him again. I feel my heart break in two. I never kept that promise. I speak up. "I know where we can stay while we're looking for a place." I take a deep breath. "Why not Mewtwo's cave?"
