Dexter smiled, "As long as we keep it clean and re-bandage it here and there it should heal nicely, unless you think it needs stitches, then I can go find the medical thread and all at the old hospital," he offered, shrugging. He was glad her arm felt better.

Riley nodded, then stood up slowly but her legs were wobbly, "Hey, you want to go raid the hospital?" she asked with a mischievious glint present in her eyes. She wasn't the type to sit down and not do anything, even with a injury.

Rick walked toward them, his mind clouded. Had Jess died? Or did she just forget her journal when Jace made her move. It wasn't like Jess to leave a journal like this behind. So what had happened here? He walked into the front room, to dazed to pay attention to his surroundings. "Hey guys..." his voice elsewhere.

Kat watched as Rick returned. "What's that?" she said, walking to him. "May I see?"

"Jess's Journal..." he held it out to her, his eyes still clouded.

Kat didn't care about his condition or worry. She inhaled slowly. She smelled Jess mostly, but the scent of Jace lingered as well. "I think I might be able to find them." It would be good to see them again. And maybe see how well they tasted...

You should be worried about them, not thinking of them as a snack. Darrian scolded her like a mother to a child.

Can it! she countered. You're supposed to be my lover, not my mother.

No, Darrian began. It's my job to keep you out of trouble.

Jace put on the padding. "I haven't seen anyone, except for a while I was with my sister..." He grew quiet. It wasn't easy talking about her, not anymore.

"Sure," Dexter shrugged, also standing, he wondered if the zombie and human pair from earlier had found the buck Riley had taken for a second before coming back to the present, "that would definitely be fun, I wonder what all's in there," he chuckled, "or who all's in there."


"Are you alright?" Kaylee walked over to Rick, ignoring the way she looked for a moment, and hoping he wouldn't be freaked out by the amount of blood on her, she hesitantly touched his arm for a second, then withdrew her hand, worried about the look in his eyes and not sure how to help him, she looked over at Kat, then back at him.


Mike went about checking the shingles, making sure that they weren't loose. He found a couple that were indeed posed to come off with just the lightest touch, "What do I do with the loose ones?" he called, looking over at Roia.

Jeff smiled as her crying slowed, "Do you feel any better now?" he asked quietly.

Belinda nodded as she held onto him.

Jace put on the padding. "I haven't seen anyone, except for a while I was with my sister..." He grew quiet. It wasn't easy talking about her, not anymore.

"Oh" Lily said. "I'm sorry." She watched him before she asked "Ready?"

Rick got back to his senses slowly, with Kaylee's touch. "I... I think so. I guess it's just weird for me to find one of my friend's old journals. I thought she had died." New hope grew inside of Rick. "Maybe we could find her again, or Jace?"

Kat sighed. "Turns out the sent is too stale. They left days ago, and who knows what's happened since? They could be dead," It was kind of sad to think that Jace and his bratty kid sister might be gone before she got to them.

"Oh," Rick said, crestfallen. "Well... There's always hope, right?" He was trying to be chipper, but he couldn't stop worrying about the ex-girlfriend that actually liked him. Not in the romantic way, not anymore, but as a friend. And he liked that old relationship.

"Carry them with you, and we'll find a use for them." Roia finished changing the way that the circuit went, guiding it to both her room and Mike's. "If we can't find anything, we could always burn them."

"As I'll ever be," Jace said sighing. He didn't like thinking about Jess's death. "What do I do?"

"Just try to block me for now" Lily said. "I'll be going easy" before she aimed a kick to his side and at the same time a punch for his chest.

"Yep, there's always hope," Kaylee tried to think on the bright side, hoping to cheer Rick back up, she looked back at Kat, "don't worry," she put her hand out again, touching his arm gently, she looked over at Kat, "are you sure there's no way to track the scent?" she asked hopefully, through she didn't have much hope, then looked back at Rick, "and even if we can't track the scent I'm sure your friends are alright."



"Let's go together to check up on Nomi, alright?" Jeff asked Belinda quietly glad she was feeling better.

Belinda nodded "Alright" as she wiped her tears away.

Jeff smiled reassuringly at her before standing, then carried her out, shutting the door behind them and walking over to Nomi, "She was having nightmares," he told her, stopping beside her.
