I saw the arrow flying at me and teleported a few inches to the side. Swinging around, I saw the girl and lifted my sword, swinging the flat side at the side of her head.

My eyes widened as I watched the sword, and my wings slowed to a near standstill as I couldn't decide to keep on my rapid attack and get into the strike or back off. Too slow.
I heard the awful clanging of the sword against my head. I went skidding sideways, slamming against the ground and, on top of all that, getting the breath knocked out of me. So, I was laying there gasping for air and my head ringing like a gong. And why... why was my vision going black? I wasn't going unconscious, was I?! No! I could hardly move, though from the blow to the head or literally hardly being able to breath, I had no idea. And I was getting so groggy. And nauseous. I mentally swore, trying to get my arms underneath me to push myself back up.

I snatched up my knife and ran to her side. "Don't try to move until you've caught your breath." I hissed at her, firing another arrow at the man.

I watched the girl fall and smiled. One down. I switched my attention to the archer as they ran to her, attempting to hit them with lightning but my head was still pounding from being punched and lightning took a lot of concentration. Instead I put a fireball in one hand and my sword in the other, knocking away the arrow with my sword and preparing to do the same for any other arrows that might come my way.

I heard the ranger's voice, tinny and far-off-sounding. Don't move? I thought groggily. I hardly can. Trying to push myself up was a futile effort, and I merely just fell back to the ground. If it was only the archer against him, there was no way we were getting out of this. No matter how strong the archer was. At least, I was pretty sure. There hadn't been a moment on this island where I hadn't been surprised, so maybe we stood a chance. God, I felt myself slipping. No! I tried to focus my attention on the rock, which by some miracle I'd managed to keep my grip on. Don't pass out. Don't pass out. Don't pass out, I thought furiously.

I focused on the man and sent two more arrows at him within a second of each other. Most likely, he'd block one and expect to have a minute to get ready again, but he wouldn't.

I saw an arrow coming towards me and blocked it, but suddenly another one bounced off the edge of my sword and embedded itself in my arm. Grimacing, I pulled it out and teleported to the side of him. I shoved the arrow at his arm and teleported away, glancing at my wound.

I moved to the side and the arrow glanced off my arm, leaving a small cut. I drew my saxe knife and readied it, jumping to a defensive position.

The pounding in my head calmed down a little. I threw my hands forward, making a single flash of lightning hit the ground and at the same time I teleported forwards, my sword slicing towards him.

I raised my Saxe knife and crossed a small backup knife in an x for leverage. The sword clashed against it, and my double knife block held steady. Instead of making a nick in the other blade, however, neither of our weapons were damaged. Hm... that's a strong sword. I wonder where he got it... I thought.
