I frowned as he glanced away from me, then yelled in pain as a dark hoof smashed into my side seconds later, causing one of my ribs to crack. I stumbled sideways, giving a cry of fury as I reached the end of my bramble "tether" and hit the ground harshly. I struggled to get my feet under me, but I was slow. My rib sent arrows of pain shooting through me, and even not including that, my legs were completely cut up from running through the thorns.
