Verth nodded, a faintly bored look to his eyes as he regarded her and listened to her words. "Yes, Sev does have that effect on others." He noted dryly and archly, if resigned. "But, that is where one can most easily draw a line between me and Sev. He is string and capable for just that reason: others. He likes being able to be there and help others, be a rock on which they can hold, and to pull them up if they fall. He essentially exists to help other people, always with a smile, a kind word, and a helping hand. He's charismatic this way, to the point where others feel better and more confident while he is around, because he is there and so utterly believes in them." He rolled his eyes darkly. "I'm not like him in those ways. I'm strong for myself. I strive not to help others, but to stand on my own and to get whatever I can by my own means. I'm ambitious and desire more. I find that most often a dependency on others is little more than a tether or chain to hold one down or keep them form achieving what they could be otherwise. I don't deal well with others, plain and simple really."
"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more:
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
"Life is as tedious as a twice-told tale,
Vexing the dull ear of a drowsy man."
"And this our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in everything."
