Jarieid watched as Sally hugged her husband and cried. Looking at Annabeth again, he sighed and looked down. "It was him. He's bleeding heavily but he's still fighting."
Annabeth's eyes hardened to hide emotion. She sat down. "He better be fighting. He's never gone down without one and he surely will not now." Her voice held certainty in it, as though she knew this for sure.
Jareid smiled at her persistance to stay strong. A normal girlfriend would be a mess on the floor right now. "He'll make it... Don't worry." He reassured. "I just remembered... I never paid for my coffee..." He mumbled. "Wanna go back and keep talking?" Jareid asked the Architect.
Annabeth nodded and got up. "I told Elizabeth I'd go back anyways," she told Jareid. She believed what he said about Percy. Mainly to keep herself from screaming, but even so.
Jareid nodded and got back up and started heading back to the cafe. "I'm really sorry. Your day must've been going great until... That..." He was referring to Percy getting shot.
Jareid looked at the ground as they walked until they got to the little shop. He opened the door and let her in first. "I see..." He mumbled. Deciding to change the subject, he asked a question. "How's Chiorn?"
Annabeth brightened at this. "Chiron is doing wonderful. Though he's got his hands full with all the campers and Mr.D!" she said, smiling again. It was hard not to smile while speaking about Chiron, who had practically raised her from when she was seven young years old.
"I miss being trained like a demigod..." He said softly. "It sucks being treated like an outcast for doing nothing wrong." The paramedic said. " I was being trained by Chiron until Apollo sent me here while Chiron stayed to train other demigods. I want to go to Camp but my job requires me basically twenty-four seven."
Annabeth frowned a little. "Don't you have, like, a pager? And a break? I mean, you should have split shifts rather than working all the time," she told him. "I'm sure you could visit eventually," she assured Jareid.
