Jake stared from the trees at the conversation. Interesting. This guy was his brother? He didn't seem very fond of Ares to tell truth. He wanted to know where this conversation was going before they killed each other. Jake glanced at his sword and wondered if he should use it. Then he decided that there was no actual threat. Also he wondered what happened between the guy and Ares so he would hate him. Surely it was good to be son of one of the strongest and most famous god between the Olympians? At least that was how it seemed to Jake.

Ember grabbed her sword and stuck in its sheath. "You wanna talk unfair? Fine. I live with the fact that I'm a mistake." I said quietly as tears fell down my face

"Aren't we all?" asked Carlisle, looking away. "Demigods," he whispered angrily. "Who made up that name? It doesn't make us feel any better. We all know what we are- mistakes." He didn't notice Jake as he was too angry and immersed in their conversation.

"Carlisle, if we want to protect ourselves, we have to work together. We have to forgive our parents." Ember said as she pulled out her blade again.

Jake stared wide eyed. Of course it had occurred to him that all he was was just... a mistake. But anyway, Ares said that he had once loved his mother. Jake wasn't sure wether to believe him or not, but it still bothered him. Ares was still his father, no matter how godly he was or how like-a-jerk he acted. The son of Ares stepped forward letting the two demigods see him. "It's pathetic." He said with no sympathy reflecting in his eyes. "That everything you are is a mistake. Wait, no, that's not true, it's just what you chose to believe because, for you, everything is just lost. Don't you ever think about fighting? About being actually who you're supposed to be- a demigod, with godly blood in your veins? You seem so keen to give up. It's pathetic watching it. Get yourself together." he snapped at the girl crying. "Crying doesn't make anything better. And crying for no reason makes it worse. Also, forgive your parents for what? For being what they are? You can't blame them."

Annabeth got out of the taxi, swaying slightly. "They need to go to a real DMV!" she exclaimed, laughing gently. "Or get their licenses revoked."

Jasper winced. "I don't want to have to say goodbye to my life. Like, seriously." He shuddered. "Movies are better than words on a page. Words, and words, and words, and words."

Ryleigh thought of this. "Piper is pretty talkative, but not much. I don't know how her talking could possibly get annoying!"

Ember snapped up. "What did you just say to me?" I hissed out.

Emily nodded. "I know right." and then, just silence. An awkward silence when she didn't know how to continue the conversation, and it would seem rude to just keep shooting without any chattering. This was strange for an Apollo kids, who would get through any situation just to show-off. Emily was often like that. But now she couldn't, it was...impossible.

"No, I meant-" Leo frowned. "Never mind." He said shrugging and his dark brown eyes stared into the ocean with a goofy smile dancing on his lips. He had made a girl laugh. An actual demigod, not some weird fantastic creature he met in the quests. Leo had always been Jason's sidekick, and even with Piper at the side, the situation got worse when he just became the third wheel in the relationship.

Jake kept his blue gaze steady on her, his teeth gritting. "Put. Yourself. Together." He repeated in a low hiss. "You're crying because some guy just yelled at you? No reason. Stop." He responded.
