HTTYD RP: Dragonwings (Always Accepting)

"Thanks again for taking me. It gives me a chance to see what goes on on these boats. So dinner tonight is fish?"

Max smiled as he faced the ocean. "Fish is dinner every night I'm afraid. And it's good to have you. I've never had another on board. Miss Pan... You might be my co captain," he smirked.

[Dan_Oceans]

"It sure beats rabbit and boar. I have never tried fish." It took Pandora a minute to process the second part of what Max said. "Wait, does this mean I have a chance to be hired?" Pandora asked.

Max rolled his head. "Are ya serious... Ya ain't never tried fish? You live in a fishin town." He sighed, "well fix that. When we can actually cook one I'm quite a cook if I say so. And no, I ain't 'hiring' you. You want to be here." He looked at her though his head was sideways and gave her an amusing look. "Never heard of a miss wanten to go on the seas before. Rare. But that's upta you. I been doin this for 9 years ya know."

"Well that is a long time. Wait, I thought that I made it clear that i don't want to do this for the money. I want to do this for the experience. You don't have to pay me. I just want to help you. But seeing as you haven't had anyone, especially a 'miss' on your boat. I guess you won't want someone who isn't from your home to help you." Pandora said. She was walking toward Phoenix, in case she felt the need to leave.

[I think that this looks good for an angry response to everything.]

Max fell silent for a moment, and could hear the breeze whispering past the pair. "I have no home." He was wracked with thoughts of his family... but then he noticed her heading towards her dragon. "I hope you weren't planning on leaving." He paused, " you still have my compass." He smirked, "and I need as much help as I can get around here."

[Dan_Oceans]

"Well, neither do I. I was hoping you could help me find it, but as I said. it was a crazy idea. Here's your compass." Pandora said, giving Max his compass back. "I guess I have a lot on my mind. I'm going below deck to get my room ready." Pandora went down to her room and started to move barrels and crates to the center of her room.

Max watched in silence as she left and he clutched his compass. He shoved it angrily in his pockets and groaned, tossing his head back and gripping his hair. Why was he always messing things up? He sighed and gripped the wheel again. Nothing but open ocean. It should be calming him, but now he was stressed. As much as he loved having a companion... he was having trouble dealing with it. He finally calmed down enough and pulled the compass out to adjust his position. "One day I'll find ma home. One I can finally stay in, and never have to leave unless I want to."

Pandora thought that going on this trip was going to be fun, but as Max probably thought, they were in over their heads on this decision. She hoped that either the trip will end soon, or they will learn to get along after tonight. She didn't want to eat. She started to tear up at the thought of not knowing her first home. She wanted to know why she had to leave. She wanted to know if Max would help her or not. She fell asleep after that.

Phoenix lifted her head at Pandora shouting. She looked at Max once Pandora was below deck and growled. She then went back to sleep. /You better not hurt her/ Phoenix thought.

Max blinked confused when he heard shouting. He was just concerned that she wasn't breaking his goods, and that she was okay. It was straight sailing for a while so he left the wheel. "I can't believe I'm saying this..." He turned to Phoenix, "guard the ship." He ducked underneath and walked to her door. He tapped on it lightly, "Miss Pan? Are ya alright in there. I was worried you'd got hurt or something..." His voice was sincere and soft. Maybe she could teach him how to act normally... They could learn from each other.
