"They're still fighting about something, and Victoria looks appalled." Ana narrated, wondering what they were saying.

"Well, maybe we can just act like we forgive each other." Lawrence said hopefully. "Maybe if we act, they'll think we're okay and will take us to the next world." Victoria rolled her eyes.
"Yes, Lawrence, the superpowers of the universe are going to fall for our acting." she said, smirking.

Jared pondered this. "Can you hear them too?"

Riley grinned again. "I did do seven years at an acting college. But even I couldn't get past them." He growled in frustration. "And even saying the words, 'Lawrence I forgive you' just- see, it even tastes bad." Riley wrinkled his nose up in distaste.

"No. I wish I could. It looks important." Ana said, frustrated.

Victoria laughed, and Lawrence grimaced.
"Oh, you think you're so witty, don't you?" he snapped, glaring at them both. "But this isn't going to get us anywhere!"

Jared frowned, straining his own ears.

Riley pricked his ears again. "I'm trying to lighten the situation. We all know you don't see the world through rose-tinted glasses." He growled, rolling back his haunches and sitting down. "It's called trying to live- and no, I don't mean it in that way and I'm not trying to be funny. But being funny does have it's benefits." He said coolly. Like not killing your fiancee in a jealous rage...His mind added helpfully.

Lawrence huffed, pacing around.
"There has to be another way out of this." he muttered, pacing up the hall towards the children. Then he noticed the girl was following him with her head. "Can you see us?"

Ana saw the male ghost walking closer, and she took an involuntary step backwards.

Jared automatically stepped back with Ana, a curious expression on his tight lipped face.

Riley too, stood as Lawrence adressed the girl. In truth he had not even noticed her there, whilst they were bickering. Impossible, she couldn't possibly see us... He thought disbelievingly, padding towards her- his neat claws clacking on the dusty floor.

Ana shivered, then rubbed her eyes, as if that could bring more clarity. She could read lips when she was wearing her glasses, but she wasn't wearing them now.
"I'm sorry." she apologized, looking down at the wolf. "I can't hear you guys. I've very bad eyesight, so I can't read your lips."

Victoria listened in disappointment, and Lawrence started pacing again.

Jared gripped Ana's arm, resenting the fact that he was blind to the danger and could do nothing to prevent it. "Is he there?" He whispered.

Riley gazed up at the girl, listening with polite interest as she was the only human to have come by that could see them. He sighed heavily, with a small parting growl and padded back to Victoria. "No ideas yet then?" Riley asked grimly, the question not even requiring an answer judging by the distressed look on Lawrence's face.

(Sorry, I was on vacation! I'm just bumping this for my own purposes so I can write tomorrow, the plane ride zapped my creativity. D:)

"We could try to write to the boy." Victoria said, grinning. "She may not be able to read our lips, but he can sure read something if she leads him to it." Lawrence smiled widely.
"Brilliant." He said, going to hug her, but stopping half-way, a bit awkward.

Ana watched them, bewildered.
"I have no clue what's going on." she said to Jared apologetically.
