Tori was about to respond, forcing herself to ignore the 'brat' bit, when he started coughing again. She dropped down to her knees with him, watching his face with concern written across hers. She shook her head slightly as he coughed blood on her, wiping it on her pants and giving him a small smile. "It's fine. You couldn't help it." She watched helplessly as he had another coughing fit.

"Good point." Saranu muttered, wiping the blood away with his sleeve and increasing the dark stain already there. "I'll help you find him in a second... just gotta rest a bit." Trying to fight back any further coughing fits, he leaned back to rest against the base of a tree trunk, taking breaths as deep as his lungs would allow. "Damn, that's been happening a lot more than usual lately." He complained after a moment's relaxation, sighing and shrugging almost apologetically at Tori. "I've got to find Ryoku too... make sure he's all right. Little idiot can't take after himself." Saranu glared at his surroundings as if expecting a potential murderer of his sibling to pop up and attack him, but of course no one came. He turned back to his friend, still working to catch his breath, and felt an unfamiliar sting of guilt at the secrets he was keeping from her. How many years had they known each other? There was almost nothing they hid from the other... though the number seemed to be increasing a lot since attending Hector's vile school.

Chase turned and frowned at Thorn, then looked past him and saw Jacklyn running towards them. "Oh, hey! You're alive!" The lion hybrid yelled happily. Well, he was going to be happy seeing any survivors. Turning around completely, he walked past Thorn and Erin in order to meet with the running panther quickly. "What's going on? I don't see your boy toy with you," He mentioned when she padded up to him and morphed back human when she faced him squarely. In consequence, he was met with a slap to the face. "Ow..." Jacklyn growled at him, "He's not my boy toy. And he's doing fine. Are you looking for survivors?" When Chase nodded, she gave a thoughtful grunt. "Good, I'll be looking for more people. Tell any Rebellion member you meet to look for survivors." When Chase nodded again she stood there awkwardly and looked past him at Thorn, Weed, Erin, and the butterfly girls. "Who are you?" She asked the new people, her eyes searching Erin's and Weed's face.

"As far as I can tell they're new students." Thorn muttered sarcastically, always the type to point out the obvious in these situations. Turning to Chase, his demeanor took on a much less friendly appearance as he let out a grumpy sigh. "Quite popular with the ladies, are you? Followed around by plenty of cats, yet you haven't said a word about that Hecate girl. I'd think you would be worried, even if you like to jump between the woman she would be looking for you. Unless she's gotten herself killed of course." The idea didn't seem to so much as bother the wizard, who merely glanced around as if expecting another unwelcome arrival.
