Alfred stood back and put his hands on her shoulder, looking at her in the eyes. He wasn't sure why, but he just felt...comfortable around around this girl. "Me? What's so great about meeting me?" Okay, he could think of a couple of reasons, but he wanted to hear her thoughts. "And no. We are going to that place together, Kay?" He said firmly.

Ella wiped her face and sighed.
"You're... You're You. And I'm just, me. I'm one state out of fifty, pretty insignificant...
I was just really worried, about how I'd be treated, bein just a State and all. And I had never met you before... But you SOUNDED cool. And you are cool. And then I made an idiot of myself. Cried in the hall on the first day because I had lunch plans." She chuckled at how ridiculous it sounded. "Lunch plans with you."

Alfred was trying to put together what all this meant in his head. "Fifty two." He corrected her. "A lot of dudes seem to forget Alaska and Hawaii." He remarked, off subject before listening to her again. It then clicked. Whoa whoa whoa. Whoa. Does this dude have a crush me? He let that thought sink in for a moment. That's totally awesome! A pretty girl has a crush on the hero! Shoot, so I ask her out? Nah, let's just see how lunch goes. He told himself and grinned at her. "Look, how about we start over, dude?"

"We're just going to forget ALL of that happened today? All that horrible mess?" Ella actually smiled a little. "That sounds like a pretty good idea..." Extending her hand politely, Ella attempted to keep a serious tone. "My name is Ella, and I would be Pennsylvania. And you are?"

Alfred nodded, before giving her hand a shake. "Nice to meet ya, dude! My name is America, other wise known as Alfred F. Jones." He said happily.

Ella laughed.
"Can we get lunch now? I'm thirsty, and haven't had anything carbonated since yesterday. And if we keep standing here, we're going to get caught."
This was much easier. Relaxing. It was... Refreshing.

"Yea, totally. I haven't had a burger in at least three hours." He agreed brightly, then turned and started to slowly walk towards the school doors. "So, what are you planning in getting to eat?" He asked. He didn't care, but couldn't think if any other way to start up a conversation.

"What am I not going to eat?" Ella responded. "Everything is good. Wait!" Ella grabbed him by the arm to stop him, but quickly let go. "I mean. This way doesn't go by the office. And I can unlock the door." Ella pulled the key out as if to prove that she had it. "If that's okay...?"
