The Umbrella Corporation thought they had contained the infection. They were wrong. Raccoon City was just the beginning. Within weeks, the T-Virus had consumed the United States. Within months, the world.
The virus didn't just wipe out human life. Lakes and rivers dried up, forests became deserts, and whole continents were reduced to nothing more than barren wastelands. Slowly, but surely, the Earth began to wither and die.
The few survivors there were learned to keep on the move. We avoided major cities. If we stopped anywhere too long, they would be drawn to us. Only a few at first, but then more and more.... A never-ending army of undead. For those of us left, staying on the road seemed the only way to stay alive.
No one knows who left this recording. Only that it was found somewhere in Nevada. But the words it contained have all proven true. At first the news networks passed off the message from 'Alice,' whoever the hell she is, as a hoax. That was before news of a plague started coming in from across the country, before the hospitals and morgues were overrun. With no treatment, and no cure, people tried their best to stay apart, to halt the spread of infection.
They failed. Even those who got as far as they could possibly go succumbed to infection, because they made one fatal mistake. They stopped.
We are the survivors. A small group of us has been on the run for years now. We're low on gas, low on ammo, low on supplies in general. But we must persevere, and we must not stop. Never stop.
Otherwise, we die.
