Sitka nodded, "What happened?" he asked, thinking one of the vampires must have hurt her.

Dominic heard the cage door open. He started to pull himself up and head towards it, bumping into a bar before he got out. Only to lay down and breathe hard. He was injured and all he wanted was to rest. "I'm so tired..."

"Tradition." Aurora replied as she pushed up her jacket sleeve to show him.

James sighed, "If I offer you blood will you stop befor you kill me?"

"Tradition? That's what you do after your birthday hunt?" he seemed to find it strange. Not understanding it.

"To kill you after you've spared my life and set me free would be dishonorable," Dominic replied, He knew he must look frightening. He wished he could see for himself.
"But I don't think I'm worth the trouble, look at me, what kind of a life would a creature like me have?"

"Ancient tradition, all hunters do this every year after their first kill. It marks how long we have survived hunting." Aurora replied.

"You would be surprised." James said as he pressed his wrist to Dominic's mouth.

Sitka nodded, "I see, I find that interesting. He looked at her. "Do you remember your first kill?"

Dominic drank, he stopped after a minute. Having taken only enough that he would heal. But his eyes wouldn't heal. that would take weeks before the scabbing and skin healed over the empty sockets.

Dominic nodded, he pulled himself up, loosing his balance a moment due to the fact he couldn't see.

"It was an adrenaline rush, it was scar and exciting at the same time." Aurora replied.

James helped Dominic, "Come on, I know a place where you can stay."

"I remember the first time I killed something." Sitka started, "The taste of their blood on my tongue was bitter sweet. I recall feeling their breath on my skin as I went for their throat." He looked away and began to work on his car again.
